They are BACK ! After a long sleep, due to the band not only having lost their bassist but at the same time a very close friend, their enthusiasm was thwarted in carrying on as a band. However some years later they awoke from their long sleep, and carried on doing that what their old bassist would probably have wanted them to carry on doing, and that was making music. This tragic loss had also made them stronger, better and more creative in their works, after all they had a good length of time to gather up new ideas for the future! Worth it, it was.

And so again from the original foundations of Cuerock in the 80´s they where back in the scene, being more melodic but also more intricate/extrovert+ intellectual with their new emerged brand of progressive rock. They where joined in 2010 by a very accomplished/professional British frontman who himself was a very highly respected and known vocalist on the U.K. music scene of the late 70/80´s I.e. new wave of British heavy metal, touring and billing with such names as Praying Mantis, Tigers-of-Pan-Tang, Thin Lizzy, Krokus, April Wine and many more. So now Cuerock were finally fully equipped for a furious new start ahead.

When approached and asked by outsiders as to how they would care to describe their form of music, well, the answer would probably be as follows: a melodic, meaningful form of progressive rock with an element of commercialism, music probably better fitting for the more Intellectual music listener/collector, composed by a bunch of very gifted musicians, without becoming extreme technical or heartless.

shootin' stars is an avant-garde/dream rock band made up of three Italian girls who possess
the power to tease, caress and blow your mind away with their unique music. With their first
album “in the morning – in the dark” they bring to new listeners the tunes that have seduced
and enchanted their audiences with their velvety soft sounds of blues and dark wave.
“in the morning – in the dark” womanly looks into the mysterious faces of the real and the unreal
whose bounds are difficult to grasp. They manage to do it through their winds (clarinet, sax
and flute), acid rhythms of electronic music and evocative drums, sinuous dark harmonies of
guitars and fretless bass and their sophisticated interwoven voices.“in the morning – in the dark”
is a descent into femininity. It finds its essence in the double; in dark lights and luminous shadows.
Partially influenced by dark wave, blues and bands such as Tuxedomoon, P.J. Harvey and Radiohead,
shootin’ stars managed to create their own unique sound, which seduces the audience
with soft and sinuous melodies. Songs are in both English and Italian, incorporating poetry and
culture from both nationalities and adding a zing of their own personalities.

Il progetto nasce nel 2010 dalle parole e dalla musica di Francesco Audano, in arte Desmond.  Nel 2011 Desmond registra un EP composto da 5 canzoni presso lo storico Transeuropa Studio di Torino con la produzione artistica di Fabrizio Chiapello (che vanta collaborazioni con Subsonica, Baustelle, Afterhours, Arisa, Niccolò Fabi, Gnu Quartet).  Nel 2012 Desmond è semifinalista di Italia Wave, selezionato tra oltre 230 band italiane.  In occasione del 3° concorso musicale Amici del Mauri, l’autore e musicista Franco Fasano consegna a Desmond il Premio Speciale Miglior Strumentista per “originalità dei testi, interpretazione dei brani, presenza scenica ed efficacia nella comunicazione”.  A San Valentino 2013 è stato pubblicato online il singolo intitolato Single: una schizofrenica rappresentazione della vita da scapolo. Con questa canzone Desmond vince il Trofeo Roxy Bar di Red Ronnie 2013: in questa occasione Desmond condivide il palco con Max Gazzé, Nada, Fausto Mesolella, Irene Fornaciari, Enrico Ruggeri, Ron, Rita Pavone, Enrico Cremonesi, Gino Paoli, Danilo Rea, Erica Mou, Fabrizio Moro, Walter Fontana, Annalisa Scarrone.  L’8 settembre 2013 Desmond si esibisce all’interno del prestigioso Miscela Rock Festival.  Nel maggio 2013 Desmond pubblica il Live in Bilico: 4 canzoni registrate in presa diretta all’interno della sala prove.  A gennaio 2014 è iniziata la preproduzione del secondo EP intitolato “Ulisse”: l’uscita è prevista per novembre 2014 accompagnata dal singolo e video della canzone “Spender poco”.

I'm an Italian Guitarist with years of experience in different kind of music. I'm a rock lover but I can play pop, funk, fusion, jazz and other styles... I like everything except metal! I'm working on this newtwork space and also on myspace to build up a place where someone could listen at me. I've been studing guitar and music since i was 10 with private teachers, in music's schools and in "Conservatorio" (as an accademy with a degree).I attended a lot of jazz seminaries. Now I play in different  profesional "music situations" and i teach in a music school (music theory and guitar technique). I'm always looking at new musical opportunities around the world.
