☉ About vivian bell:
Born in Palermo in 1990 and based in Milan, he works between ambient and club music, combining intimate atmospheres, nostalgic moods, and hypnotic textures. His DJ sets focus on overlooked and vinyl-only records, many of which he digitizes himself.
He curated the Ecoterrorismo podcast, merging field recordings and spoken word on the climate crisis, and currently runs Erbario on Fritto FM, a series that moves freely between ambient dub, IDM, tech house and any sound that sparks his curiosity. vivian’s work extends to film soundtracks (A Rare Way of Smiling, 2024; Inevitabile, 2025), and to music writing for Ondarock and Palpebræ.

"A selection of minimal techno released between the late 1990s and early 2010s, including a few rarities never issued digitally or available online. Over twenty tracks in one hour, mixed in continuity: each one fades in slowly but overlaps the next right away. A compact flow, with no breaks."

Rachael es una DJ residente en Madrid, a cuyos intereses iniciales, circunscritos principalmente al electro y al techno, añadió la exploración de ciertas expresiones del hardcore continuum, así como incursiones esporádicas en géneros limítrofes. Su estilo está caracterizado por un uso ágil y directo del vinilo, y por un principio constructivo marcado por una tendencia general a la acumulación de intensidad.

Originaria de Zaragoza, se ha establecido como una de las presencias más sólidas en la escena underground madrileña, donde ha llevado su energía a salas como Siroco o Specka, además de participar en citas como el Perpendicular Fest o en varias de las fiestas organizadas por Distrito 91 en la capital.

Fuera de Madrid, ha pasado por espacios como Razzmatazz, Laut, Upload o Soundit Festival en Barcelona, y ha formado parte de las programaciones de Dabadaba en San Sebastián o del Jimmy Jazz Klub en Vitoria-Gasteiz, entre muchas otras.

This month's mix for Electronic Convergence is a shout out to the golden age of techno music - the late nineties - featuring classic tracks from legendary producers Jeff Mills, Ben Sims, Marco Carola and User. I started DJing and buying records in 1996 and remember when these tracks came out and the hype surrounding labels such as Axis, Purpose Maker, Theory, Question and User. I never get sick of playing and listening to these records.
