Dark Blue

Still light (Dungeness)

1894. Honfleur, France. Perhaps the laziest means of making money ever. A local restauranteur hired me to dog sit his Jack Russell whilst he sweated, fretted, hand foot and finger-waited the clientele. I sat out in the back garden for weeks, with pitchers of wine and the dog hovering in and out of a Pastis-induced coma. If he tried to scrabble upright on one foot, one eye quarter open. I'd give him another glug to settle him down. The warm sun made my chest and cheeks glow. The merry-go-round outside the Hôtel de Ville piped sugary happy vibes into the high cotton clouds.

Then one day a screeching cat landed right next to the cur and he was electrified into action, barking sharply and trampetting to his feet. The cat shot into the restaurant,  the dog chased, albeit diagonally and with his head at a strange angle. I followed shirtless and hissing curses. Dishes, plates and pans went flying.  I ran into the corner of a groin-level table, cupping my unspeakables and yowling in shock. The cat vanished up a petticoat dome, the dog following. The elderly lady patted feverishly at her dress, proclaiming her love for Jesus. Her husband held up both fists and cocked his chin back. Two other couples stood open-mouthed, palms on cheeks. Another table was tipped up, cabbage soup all over summer frocks and shirts, like a flung bucket of bile. The man in the corner was rubbing thumb and forefinger together, puss-pussing hopelessly.  The restaurant owner appeared, loose fringed and exploding with embarrassment. The dog eventally emerged, panting like a bellows, scrambled onto a table and huffed a generous slick of aniseed-flavoured sick onto it. I could see the cat sat on the outside wall, winking.

Pre-evacuation,  I mopped up the mess with my shirt, before putting it on with a shivering grimace. Black-eyed and penniless again. Onwards and upwards

Queens of the Stone Age - No One Knows

Several Prizes somos una banda de Madrid (España), formada en 2012 por 4 madrileños con varias experiencias en conjunto y un asturiano con más experiencias por su lado, que estaban predestinados a coincidir en este proyecto.

Tras el primer EP, "Several Prizes #1" autoproducido y editado en 2013, tenemos nuestro segundo EP a punto de salir del horno. 
"Last Wish" ha sido producido por Manuel Cabezalí (Havallina) y grabado en El Lado Izquierdo (Dany Richter).
En este segundo EP va madurando nuestro sonido, manteniendo nuestro rock libre de etiquetas y abierto a juegos con otras influencias.  A partir del 12/12 en Itunes / Spotify / Soundcloud o a través de nuestro mail severalprizes@gmail.com
