Dual-Split is an American-French Basque synth-pop duo formed in Brooklyn in 2010. The group is composed of former TEEN drummer and backing vocalist, Maia Ibar, and her brother Baptiste Ibar (Bizi Gara) & former bassist for HERE WE GO MAGIC. The name Dual-Split is derived from their father's theory in theoretical physics illustrating the duality of human experience split between so many contradicting and entangled realities. As siblings Baptiste and Maia can easily channel into a space where their music translates their common references. This symbiosis, resounds throughout the paint and yonic power of the __ songs and a narrative result, one that defines two peoples existence, one that mirrors our own struggles as humans and artists trying to dwell on a turbulent planet. Maia's unique and other worldly hexathedral voice and feel brings the listener into a lush emotional trance somewhere between the realms, colors and stars which devours planets.Meanwhile Baptiste's sense of Urban rhythmic constructions keeps the music here on earth to ground the bones.
