Trend setting Canadian label My Favorite Robot is all ready to offer up some scorching summer sounds in the form of their tidy three track sampler EP. It features three hot artists and a trio of cuts that fit in perfectly with their singular MO. 

Swiss outfit Animal Trainer, of labels like Hive Audio and Still Vor Talent and others, go first. Their excellent ‘Aeron’ track is their first ever on this label and is a walloping great house cut with huge rubber kicks, spin tingling melodies and the sort of oversized bassline that will thoroughly destroy dance floors this summer. It is a patient, cosmic tinged track with a subtle sense of tension and release that really sweeps you up. 

Next up is Italian producer and DJ, Slok, who has been churning out beats for almost twenty years. In that time he has amassed credits on plenty of top labels including One Records, Circle Music and of course MFRR and has previously enlisted the MFR production outfit to provide vocals on his music. Here we find him in a doleful deep house mood with sombre chords laid over slick beats on ‘Dreamachine’. It is a spaced out and hypnotic track that will allow for lots of introspective moments. 

Finally, Valencia talent Darlyn Vlys is a prolific producer who has been active for five years but has already released more than ten EPs on all sorts of labels like Avotre, Terminal M and Suara. His ‘Butterfly’ track is eerie and haunted, with wide open spaces sucking you in. Thin pads, starry melodies and groaning bass all make for epic listening as you are trapped in the middle of it all and this one is perfect for dead of the night moments of pure emotion. 

This summer sampler offers up a hat trick of class club hits that remind us just why My Favorite Robot is one of the most talked about labels of the day.

This two tracker explores the deeper, slightly darker, and definitely more serious side of Jori Hulkkonen than his previous 4track album sampler released earlier this summer on My Favorite Robot Records.
“Capetown People” goes sonically back to 1995, where all you needed were cool analogue beats and two mystic chords. In 2015 the concept sounds as fresh as it ever did. The track in itself is Jori’s homage to capes -which he, as we all know, wears, collects, and just generally appreciates.
With “Fall Hard” we get a bit more complex on the muso-front, and the track has an eerie, heartfelt feel to it. Jori does probably his best vocal performance yet, and the track is as gorgeous as deep house in 2015 gets.

Omid Nourizadeh also known as Omid 16B, is a DJ whose passion for cutting edge electronic music is unrivalled. As a DJ and producer, songwriter, musician and label boss, Omid has forged a unique and prolific career as one of the world’s most talented and respected musicians and producers.
He’s much regarded as one of the leaders who pioneered the tech house movement back in the early nineties, alongside the likes of Carl Craig, Vince Watson, Craig Richards, Mr C, Steve Bug and Francois K .
Growing up in London, with Persian roots, Omid was influenced by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, The Cure, Depeche Mode, RIDE and The Mission. Throughout his teens he became an accomplished musician playing a list of instruments while attending Richmond College and utilising the music rooms at any given chance.
