In power, youth and Maya, the Lord is forgotten; this is the greatest tragedy - so say the spiritual sages.

ਆਸ ਪਿਆਸ ਰਮਣ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਏਹੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਭਾਗਵੰਤੁ ਲਹੈ ॥੧॥
Hope and desire to sing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises - this is the treasure of the most fortunate devotees. ||1||

ਸਰਣਿ ਸਮਰਥ ਅਕਥ ਅਗੋਚਰਾ ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਣ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
O Lord of Sanctuary, all-powerful, imperceptible and unfathomable - Your Name is the Purifier of sinners.

Night and day, you listen to the Puraanas, but you do not understand them, you ignorant fool!
ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਪੁਰਾਨੋਂ ਕੋ ਸ੍ਰਵਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਭੀ, ਹੇ (ਅਜਾਨ) ਅਗ੍ਯਾਨੀ! ਤੂੰ ਸਮਝਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਭਯਾ॥

ਕਾਲੁ ਤਉ ਪਹੂਚਿਓ ਆਨਿ ਕਹਾ ਜੈਹੈ ਭਾਜਿ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਜੋ ਮਾਨਿਓ ਦੇਹ ਸੋ ਤਉ ਤੇਰਉ ਹੋਇ ਹੈ ਖੇਹ ॥
Asathhir Jo Maaniou Dhaeh So Tho Thaero Hoe Hai Khaeh ||
You believed that this body was permanent, but it shall turn to dust.
ਜਿਸ ਦੇਹੀ ਕੋ ਤੈਨੇ ਇਸਥਿਰ ਕਰ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਹੂਆ ਹੈ, ਸੋ ਤੌ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਖੇਹ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਖਾਕ ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੈਗਾ॥

ਕਿਉ ਨ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਲੇਹਿ ਮੂਰਖ ਨਿਲਾਜ ਰੇ ॥੧॥
Kio N Har Ko Naam Laehi Moorakh Nilaaj Rae ||1||
Why don't you chant the Name of the Lord, you shameless fool? ||1||
ਤਾਂ ਤੇ (ਰੇ) ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਪਰਮ ਨਿਲਜ! ਹਰੀ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਕੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੇਤਾ ਹੈ? ਅਰਥਾਤ ਨਾਮ ਕਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰੁ ਪੁਨਾ ਇਹ ਸਮਾਂ ਬੀਤ ਜਾਵੈਗਾ॥੧॥

ਰਾਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਹੀਏ ਆਨਿ ਛਾਡਿ ਦੇ ਤੈ ਮਨ ਕੋ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
Raam Bhagath Heeeae Aan Shhaadd Dhae Thai Man Ko Maan ||
Let devotional worship of the Lord enter into your heart, and abandon the intellectualism of your mind.
ਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਹੇ ਭਾਈ ਰਾਮ ਕੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਰਿਦੇ ਮੇਂ ਆਨ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰੁ, ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਮਨ ਕੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਗੁਮਾਨ ਤਿਆਗਨ ਕਰ ਦੇਹਿ॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨ ਇਹ ਬਖਾਨਿ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਬਿਰਾਜੁ ਰੇ ॥੨॥੪॥
Naanak Jan Eih Bakhaan Jag Mehi Biraaj Rae ||2||4||
O Servant Nanak, this is the way to live in the world. ||2||4||

In this chapter, Kavi Santokh Singh Ji dwells deeper into the background of Baba Ram Koer Ji (Baba Gurbaksh Singh Ji) who is his source in the writing of this Granth. Furthermore, a story of Baba Ram Koer Ji's encounter with a group of villagers is narrated wherein Baba Ji is invited by the villagers on a funerary ceremony. In that ceremony, Baba Ji is fed with Kheer and Baba Ji being pleased asks what is the occasion? The villagers reply that it is because someone had passed away, Baba Ji immediately says that a person will die every day (so that he will receive the delicious kheer). So it did happen and after a while, the anxious villagers came back to Baba Ji and called him over for a wedding function and served him with Kheer. Being pleased, Baba Ji says that everyday there would be a wedding in this village.
