This year has been an amazing one, your support has kept my spirit up throughout the year.

I feel grateful for this year's milestones. From releasing with Sable Valley and DIM MAK, getting supported on RL Grime's Halloween XI: Dead Space to playing multiple international shows. Mindblowing that some of these were goals I've had since I was a kid. Seeing these things become reality has only left me with more motivation for 2023.

This is why I'm incredibly excited to show you this year's edition of my annual 'unreleased' minimix.
Where I dig into all the projects I've made over the last 12 months and present you my personal favorites.

I hope to release all of these in 2023, and I hope that you will be there listening to these tracks.

A lot of things have been said about Volor Flex, the young Russian producer whose music feels and acts like both a tribute and, at times, a cover of this mysterious iconic musician called Burial whom you might've heard of on previous occasions. 

Some people think "this sounds too much like the original, we don't need copycats" while others went as far as calling it "Burial v2". 
To each his own - the music is shamless and catchy. Have a go at it, leave all bias aside and take it in for how it sounds rather than what it stands for, you'll probably find yourself enjoying it

Volor Flex - Goodbye

An exploration of vocals as an instrument, "Aphasia" is a vocal-focused song where none of the lyrics are discernible, and is named after the medical term for the inability to understand speech. Mangled vocal chops carry the song, while more vocal samples and a vocal synth support. The result is a disorienting feeling - almost as if you suddenly found yourself in a foreign country.

To whom it may concern,

I don’t know how I got here. This isn’t reality. It’s so close to being real you could go your whole life without noticing it, but once you take a closer look, the seams become visible. The people I know, my friends and family, all seem to be surrogate projections of their former selves. If I talk to them about it, they act like I’m crazy, but I know it’s true. Nothing here makes sense. Part of me recognizes this place, as if I was here once before, in a dream or as a small child, but the longer I’m here the more alien it feels. My life doesn’t even feel like my own anymore. It’s like I know I should be somewhere else, but I don’t know where somewhere else would even be. I am trapped. Living a life as an imposter in this enfolded simulation.

If you are reading this, there are two possible scenarios:

1. I have found a way out and kept this memoir for posterity, or

2. You have strayed and become hopelessly lost, just like me.
