My PlayAlchemist set was by far gonna be my biggest set of the week. It simply wasn't meant to be as the rain shut down their camp for the rest of the burn (big time sad face)! I spent a lot of time crafting this set with the vibe of this epic camp in mind and re-recorded it in hopes that the energy and vibe I intended can be captured a bit...this set was meant to be played from 12:30am to 2:30am so clearly I planned a bit more than that with the intention of playing the section(s) that felt best in the moment.

Burning Man PlayAlchemist Set 2023

Becoming a regular stage warmer for the Mood Swing & Chevy Bass Block Parties has presented a good excuse to get out of the house and share some much loved tunes of a slightly funkier variety alongside dear friends and some incredibly talented international acts...

For this instalment we gathered at The Triffid and the brief was to begin the moment doors opened and warm up the space by toeing the line of a vibe that begs the question "Should we get a drink?" or "Should we have a dance?" then handover to the rest of the funky little relay team assembling for the eve. Shout out to Jamie Forest, Father Funk, Clitoverse, Djonn, Wilma, Sharif D, The Freshmaker, The Sponges and of course MSCB.

I count my blessings to have these opportunities to express myself and connect with others through a mutual love of the music that we can't help but move and groove to, the kind that makes us feel, helps us heal and above all else connect with ourselves via the rhythms and melodies that feel at home in our bodies for reasons far beyond our understanding.

Forest Sunrise (2024)

This was my August 4th 2024, guest dj debut at DT here in the Comox Valley. My third live ecstatic dance mix. As a thank you for all the medicine received attending DT for two years, playfullness was a potent theme that I was called to channel. Leading up to this mix, I was greeted with my own heightened anxieties over xy & z. "Never give up the spirit of play" was my advice to my inner child in a guided meditation many moons ago. This was a lovely antidote to the anxiety contributing to my contraction, that after Sunday has me in a more expansive expression of myself and inspirations. 

     This has two firey peaks instead of one. It was important to allow a cool down during this August long heat. All so we could really drop into our second firey peak. Have a listen when you have the 80 minutes to drop in and your soul needs play!

Soooo here it is, my latest offering, an audible morsel, a tasty little musical treat dug deep from my soul containing all the tunes I have been loving/playing to absolute death this past year or so. Always such a challenge to narrow it down but each of the tracks themselves tend pave the way to the next and in the end the process becomes somewhat out of my hands 🙌

I am thankful for all the original creators who have provided this most recent soundtrack to my life, they have joined me while travelling far and wide to Japan, Canada, the States and the UK, they have serenaded me in the garden and on crafternoons, in the kitchen and my yoga mat and on walks, hikes, rides and long drives alike always enhancing the beauty of the scenes I find myself in.
