Whilst some may see the Sloth as lazy or indifferent, we prefer to see this Happy Herbivore for what they really are - Hero's to all Avocados, Algae Farmers Extraordinaire, but most importantly as a symbol of Patience and Meditation! So cross your claws, as we prepare to travel the Astral Hanging Gardens of the Great Babylon within, with another Episode of the Slow Poke Sessions.'

This weeks Slow Poke Session With @Nowananda 

Nowananda is life-long dancer and music collector, who has been passionate about electronic music since the early 90s.

He is influenced by growing up in a multi-cultural family, playing classical piano for 7 years, traveling and living in South-East Asia most of his adult life, as well as the study, practice and teaching of Tantra, Yoga, healing and body/energy work.

Nowananda weaves together devotional, organic and electronic music from all over the world into music journeys that invoke the mystic, the lover and the animal within us.

His motto is "Through dance, love deepens for ourselves, others, and life.”

Kadhem is a Tunisian DJ/Producer and has always been passionate about electronic music. Initiated in music production and after learning the basics of music KADhEM spends his free time cooking rhythms. After a year of hesitation and having played only in private parties it was in 2018 that he decided to communicate on his music. Growing up in a country with such musical diversity has always led him to bring something different from electronic music and we can clearly see it in one of his tracks entitled "Delirium" where he shows that Tunisian culture has its own weight in the music industry. Our next release on Yomo Records originated when Vienna-based artist The Wash reached out and asked if he could meet Mike Koglin and Stephan Pietack aka Sudhaus for a collaboration.

Said and done, and after two productive days in Berlin ‘Meridian’ and ‘White Cube’, named after the shape of Mike’s recording studio, were born. The two tracks represent a powerful blend between The Wash’s contest-winning grooves and Sudhaus’ renowned synth textures and invite you on a trip deep down the rabbit hole.

On remix duties we have Montreal-based Progressive powerhouse Solid Stone who adds a deeper melodic flavor and transforms ‘Meridian’ into a spherical anthem between Progressive and Melodic Techno.

Franca is appreciated around the globe for her energetic, creative and groove-driven DJ sets. Playing on the fringes of techno and house, she is as tight on the controls as she is playful in her storytelling. Her unique ability to feel the audience, space and time, carefully capturing and then guiding the energy of the dance  floor with focus and dedication, is one of her true trade- marks.

| Friends and bandmates since they were 15 there’s a bond between T.M.A (AKA Steven Szpielmann and
Patrick Steppons) that means they have an intuitive understanding of one another. In the studio this has led to
the production of spellbinding collection of music, full of emotional depth and dynamic rhythms. The pair play
live organic instruments, guitars and drums, which they merge with an electronic setup to produce a warm,
human sound. This is evident across all three tracks on their latest EP for Hommage, Aitne.

Kicking off with the title track, we’re immediately confronted with the duo’s instinctive use of melody and
rhythm to cultivate the kind of atmosphere that envelops you from the off. A wistful, impish vocal clips drifts in
and out of the background occasionally, coaxing you into a trance-like state, while the beats keep your body
moving. Tension, drama and simmering emotion make this one a fantastic start to the EP.

Next up is ‘Eirene’, a more punchy cut with razor sharp snares and hats, combined with a dense low end
designed to pump the dance floor full of irresistible energy. The track’s blackened sheen is juxtaposed by the
lively breakdown, which lifts the mood and carries us into the vibrant second half.

Lastly, label owners Monkey Safari step up for a remix of ‘Aitne’. They add a dreamlike atmosphere to the cut,
increasing its emotional appeal. This is one for the lovers out there, who’ll be wrapped in each others’ arms on
the dance floor, as the romantic, thought-provoking melody sends them into the throes of ecstasy. |

BIO:
BLK is an electronic music lover based in Paris. His introduction to electronic music started at a very young age, when he was just ten. In the early 2000’ he was already embracing this art under its many forms; Trance, Techno, Minimal and House music. From there, he started shaping his own world through his biggest inspirations at that time such as Sasha, John Digweed, Dj Shah, Aly & Fila, Ferry Corsten, Above & Beyond, Magda, Trentemøller and many others. Growing into a true fan of the electronic nightlife, he forthwith made it his addictive passion. BLK turned from a music lover to a music maker.
But nothing great happens overnight. Before revealing his talent to the world, BLK worked in the shadow for several years, learning, practicing and evolving with open heart and ears to new sounds and influences. As his background in electronic music became wider, he fell in love with new melodies, finding inspiration in the work of artists like Mira, Âme, Denis Horvat, Cliff De Zoete.
Today, BLK found his balance between diversity and uniqueness. Since he shaped his very personal touch, he is able of playing deep and melodic styles with various sonorities without losing his unique print. He defines this print as an “undeniably bold and precise melodious variation of House & Techno with hidden shades of darkness and exotic melancholic vibes”. From catchy and sensual rhythms to mesmerizing voices, BLK’s music is a form of poetry that will awaken all your senses and take listeners on a sonic journey they won’t soon forget.
Very passionate, BLK is now pushing his work to a whole other level. In order to share a more personal vision of electronic music with the universe, he is working on composing and producing his own music.
