We are excited to announce the first new signing of 2016 to our 130701 imprint, in the form of Polish cellist Resina. The alias of Warsaw-based Karolina Rec, Resina was signed after sending us a hugely impressive demo last year. 

Born in 1982, Karolina graduated from the Music Academy in Gdansk and the University of Gdansk. Active in Poland's independent music scene since the late '00s, she was co-founder / collaborator of some of Poland's most influential alternative bands, has featured on numerous album releases and soundtracks (including the Oscar-nominated 'Rabbit a la Berlin'), and is the author of a dozen music productions for theatre. A compulsive live artist, her style is primarily characterized by personal language of improvisation and alternative approach to melodyHer self-titled debut album is a result of experiments with cello and simple electronic tools - sometimes close to the form of song; sometimes based more on powerful, intuitive impressions but always marked by the desire to use non-obvious characteristics of the instrument.

Resina will play at 130701 showcases at Tallinn Music Week on April 1st and at The Brighton Festival on May 10th. A debut solo album is set for release on 130701 later this year.

Il y a longtemps, j’ai traversé le free-jazz, le free-rock, le noise et surtout l’expérimentation sonore au saxophone alto et avec divers objets électriques plus ou moins fonctionnels. 
Il y a moins longtemps mais quand même assez longtemps, j’ai rencontré le théâtre, le théâtre documentaire, de marionnettes, la danse, le cinéma, les bandes-son, le tout à l’électroacoustique et souvent en multidiffusion pour le plaisir des immersions sonores et de l’acoustique vraiment physique. 
Et puis le baryton, pour la richesse des sons possibles. 

Pendant ce long temps il y a eu aussi la Rue avec ses spectacles au public inattendu, les fanfares improvisées et de situation, transformant l’espace public en y détournant le regard. Et des rencontres, beaucoup de groupes, de performances, de télescopages en tous genres.
Toutes ces aventures n’avaient finalement comme point commun que l’improvisation (libre souvent) et la création. Le bonheur des éléments éphémères et vivants.

Aujourd’hui (je ne suis plus si jeune, je me demande pourquoi) et je me plonge dans les pièces radiophoniques, les captations audio-naturalistes hybrides mêlant la poésie (une grande passion), l’écriture, les interviews, en me rapprochant de la parole des uns et des unes par gout de l’impromptu. Sûrement aussi par amour de la richesse du Monde. Le son est partout, la vie aussi.

C’est une promenade, acoustique, à laquelle il faut accepter de donner son temps. Elle n’existe que par celui qui écoute. 
On y croisera comme chez Alain Cavalier ou Luc Ferrari le gout des petites émotions, le point Lagrange d’une douche, Rilke ou Guillevic ou encore Richard Rognet, poète Vosgien du minuscule, on y rencontrera aussi la nature sonore d’un coin isolé du brouhaha habituel des quotidiens (c’est d’actualité). Surement aussi un peu d’air, un peu de saxophone ; et du vent, beaucoup de vent.  
Oui, seule l’écoute peut en faire un paysage, une émotion partie de rien et simplement partagée.

Je vous le dis, ça ne s’écoute pas vraiment sur les haut-parleurs d’un ordinateur, un casque sans aucun doute, de grandes enceintes sûrement, et fort. Il faut s’allonger confortablement, et se laisser porter.
