Sneffinsky:

Born and raised in the beautiful Ahr Valley in western Germany I always had the calming natural influence of forests and small mountains, which has been inspiring me ever since I can think. Until today this connection has continuosuly grown and there’s no place I feel more at home than the outdoors. 
Moving to Cologne in 2017 then sparked my deep passion for the world of electronic music which is experiencing a constant organic shaping by many artists of different genres. In 2019 I made a first step & started mixing music myself and got to play at various privately organized events so far. Over time I have been getting into progressive, deep, melodic house and techno a lot, through which I can best express the synergy of nature and music united in me. My fundamental concept while playing music is to let people dream and join me on a journey through other dimensions of perception.  
Being really just at the beginning of my musical journey, I’m positively looking forward to what is yet to come – hopefully releasing my own productions in the future.
For now I hope you can enjoy listening to this set as much as I enjoyed playing it for ya!

Born and raised in a beautiful green and rural area of western Germany in a very musical family, I was always surrounded by nature and rhythmic sounds. There is no place I feel more at home than the outdoors. After spending a year traveling the world and moving to the City of Cologne in 2017, I started to discover my deep & genuine passion for electronic music, which is constantly evolving ever since. Since I started DJing in 2019, there has been a growing inner synergy of nature and music, which I can best express through techno and deep house spiked with many melodic and organic ingredients.

My fundamental concept as a DJ is to create an environment to connect & unite every soul that's dancing and listening. In my opinion it's all about connection. How do you choose to interact with your surrounding environment, nature and fellow souls? And most importantly as an individual, how do you connect to your very self and your personal energy? Because this is where everybody can find the actual potential to change the world. Simply by starting with oneself.

I spent most of summer 2023 on the mystical island of Mykonos in Greece as a resident artist/DJ at the world renowned Noema Restaurant and Scorpios Beach Club. This set I recroded live on one of my last nights on the island after spending the over 2 months there collecting music to curate the vibe of the space. It is a mix of different world vibes of organic downtempo ranging from Middle Eastern to African, European and Latin influences. I hope you enjoy the journey !

Papaya Playa Project Tulum 127: Baile de sirena

The sculpture is located in the garden of ISTANBUL ERENKOY MENTAL AND NERVOUS DISEASES TRAINING AND RESEARCH HOSPITAL. The following is written in front of the work of art, whose name is "Touch of HOPE": 

"Our souls resonate within your hearts, 
your smiles share our sorrows, 
the wheel of fate turns, our place changes, 
in truth, we are you, and you are us." 

According to what is said, all three people in the sculpture suffer from psychiatric problems at different levels. The cover they pull from the end symbolizes the treatments that give them hope and help them hold on to life. 

In order to see some works of art up close, you have to seek justice for others one last time where there is no justice, and choose to remain silent for an indefinite period of time, which is the best option after what happened. If you're still sane after your experience, this is the only way to take a closer look. After a while, you may find that you need to get used to being outside again. People and their stories may seem meaningless after the stories you hear inside. This never seems to change. There's nothing we can do about it. It's best not to forget some facts.

We were lighting our cigarettes with a working fire inside the wall, leaning slightly and taking deep breaths. Nobody was happy about this situation, but we knew that some of us were not good with fire. Generally, if there was a lit cigarette, that person's burning fire would do the trick. Although lighters were prohibited inside, there was a hidden lighter and we did not set the place on fire. Even though it was forbidden, we would start the day secretly and early with the first cigarette of the day, which hurriedly lit so that our fire would not run out of gas quickly. The secret would keep us together. While using a lighter in your life, you can experience the moment when you attach the most importance to the lighter. Not for yourself, but for others in the future.

Welcome back to the Magician On Duty Journey Series!

On this edition we welcome Sneffinsky (@sneffinsky)

The musical journey of Saymon aka. Sneffinsky has been a ride full of surprising, mind expanding moments and beautiful memories over the past years which is in itself a reflection of his bigger journey of life as a whole and continues with an ongoing flow of organic interplay. 

While having his more solid bases in Cologne and Berlin, Sneffinsky also embodies the free spirit of a migratory bird and can often be found in many other parts of this beautiful world throughout the year following the universal flow that this life has to offer to him.

Through his travels and his affinity for other cultures, Sneffinsky has been living in various subcultures over the years and therefore come into contact with many different musical genres. This is reflected in the musical diversity of his DJ sets, which can vary a lot in its roots, its speed and the overall mood. Whether it is a fiery club gig, a vibrant & bouncy festival day rave or a groovy sundowner session on a remote place near the ocean, there is one thing all of his sets have in common: They always come with personal intention & result in a unique and deep journey through sound & mind for the listeners and Saymon himself.

The creative expression through music plays a crucial part of processing events and emotions throughout the different phases of his life. The biggest inspiration for Saymon has always been nature. And by sharing this synergy of nature and music with the crowd through sonic composition, Sneffinsky creates room for connection to the deeper self and the life force that unifies all of us living creatures.

“I am very happy & grateful to provide this journey through some of my favourite organic downtempo selections from the past years and become part of the Magician on Duty Journey Series. Many of these tracks are connected to very special memories in my life and the overall energy of this final compilation reflects my current inner state pretty precisely. 

It is a melange of partly dreamy, partly progressive and partly bouncy downtempo, infused with sounds from tribal, organic and oriental rhythms that transport vibrations of levity, ease, warmth and freedom initiating the brighter days that are just around the corner. Thank you for all the wonderful and extremely talented artists that are featured in this journey mix.
