The sunrises in the desert are something extremely special and even more so when I had the privilege of DJ'ing for the first time at Burning Man ~ at one of the most unique places and experiences on earth - on the sound art car, Rexan, a "burnified" South Arican double decker Safari jeep from the Sundowners Burning Man camp. This set is actually re-recorded since in true dusty fashion - you never know what can happen, the set did not record. So here it is re-created for your listening pleasure. In dust we trust, except... when it comes to digital sound recording equipment. Dreaming of that glorious morning with you all. Until next time....

Special note: as I re-recorded this set, I at times, closed my eyes and transported myself back to the desert....and the feeling of forgiveness came to me. For my eldest brother Steve who has not spoken to me in over 20 years. I forgive you; I forgive myself and I "pray to see the day" where there will be different "versions of ourselves", able to meet each other with grace, love and forgiveness. You deserve that and so do I. Freedom.  Life is way too short to hope for anything else.

After two years without publishing a set (due in part to the enormous amount of chores and in part to my inevitable procrastination), I am publishing again with a new project: Xantolo, the name of the Day of the Death in indigenous language. These series will contain my sets with a sexier and deeper tone, differentiating themselves from the Electribal sets, which are obviously more medicinal and downtempo. I want to share with you the sets I've played at body-sex-positive themed parties, where I've been sharing my music a lot lately.

A few days ago I was joking (but seriously) about the fact that the last four parties I've played have been naked parties. Lately I play more naked than with clothes :D And well... These Xantolo series represents the return of my process as a music selector and Dj. From now on I will publish sets from the parties and festivals with which I collaborate, as a show of support, affection and appreciation for the beauty of these spaces. I don't want to close the Electribal project, but I'm not sure how much I will publish Electribal sets. I am very lucky to attend some of the most beautiful parties and festivals in the world, and I hope I can motivate you to attend too when you hear the music that is heard there. This set was for the beautiful The Naked Tea Party, an essential part of Berlin and the Hedone festival. It's a live recording, so the volumes are changing since I adjusted them throughout the set as more people entered or left. There are also a number of strange little cuts, as I had to process the length of the set into three parts and then put it together. Quality is mp3, since the file was to big to process as a WAV. Outside of this, I think it's one of the most fun sets I've ever played. I enjoyed every minute :)

Thanks to those who danced for the two and a half hours without stopping, with your naked and sweaty bodies supporting the beat.

Xantolo 1 - Hedone Paris Convention 2024 - The Naked Tea Party

Playing on a deep playa art car at Burning Man is an unforgettable experience. Starting in the 'town' on a moving art car, going direction deep playa followed by hundreds of bikes around you, to finally arrive in the middle of the desert and see the dance floor filling up. Unique.

This is the reason I wanted to publish this set here, to have a shared memory of that moment. 

When playing abroad, it can be tempting to adapt your selection and to try to fit with the sound the crowd is expecting and used to. I chose to stick to my sound with lot of tracks that I carried with me this whole summer, and altho that set sounds radically different and slower than what you hear at Burning Man and in the USA in general, I received some great feedbacks and I was happy to slowly contribute to the expansion of our cherish sound on this side of the Atlantic. 

Thank you Oxana and the Bipolar Express crew for having me on your gorgeous stage.
