Spectrum once again spotlights exciting talent, proudly welcoming German rising star KAUFMANN to the label with her electrifying double release, 'John Otto' / 'Bald Ponytail'.
 
Renowned for her high-energy DJ sets, KAUFMANN has impressively translated that intensity into her productions. With her own blend of thumping kicks and gnarly synths, she has already caught the attention of techno heavyweight Oliver Huntemann who has championed her work with releases on his Senso Sounds imprint.
 
'John Otto' sets the tone on her Spectrum debut, inspired by the raw, unrelenting energy of the legendary nu-metal drummer. With punchy beats, psy-trance-inspired synth stabs, and a groovy bassline, the track delivers a euphoric punch that's primed for peak-time floors.
 
On the flip, 'Bald Ponytail' locks listeners into a hypnotic groove with its call-and-response interplay of rattling bass stabs and siren-like vocal chops. Beneath the northern veil where sound and time entwine, LaFontaine emerges—a returning alchemist to the enigmatic Planet X. Movem unfolds as his latest incantation, a seven-fold opus of raw, unrelenting techno, each pulse and beat etched with intention.

The opening spell is conjured in harmony with his life partner, Jamesendir, a duet of heart and machine. Felicie, hailing from distant shores, twists one of these threads into her own fevered rhythm. Meanwhile, Exos, no stranger to shaping planets, lends his hand to forge another track into a tempest.

On 12.12.24, the luck-marked number of Planet X, this creation will burst forth, carrying the weight of its celestial alignment. A new chapter in Icelandic sound—foreboding, fierce, and entirely LaFontaine.
