Lisbon-based label Karakter is back for its 18th release, the 3rd of the year, and this time featuring a mighty collaboration between two rising Mexican artists: Javier Martínez (SXDNS104) and Fernando Velázquez, mostly known as Undefined Pattern (SXDNS197). "Lane Reduction" was born when the two young producers decided to create their own vision of what a dance peak night track should be. Inspired by long road trips, they delivered two cosmic, dark anthems for the dance floor (one day, we shall return!), both filled with rugged basslines, cosmic synths, and dystopian percussions. The outstanding remix duty was provided with love by none other than Cornelius Doctor and Motel 77 (SXDNS094).

One of the masterminds behind the vital French label HARD FIST, Cornelius Doctor needs no further introduction. Owner of a very peculiar sonority, he spared no efforts to deliver an insightful interpretation of “Delta Junction”. As usual, Cornelius brought some weirdness and inventiveness to the party, adding throbbing vocal layers and intense percussive elements that entirely changed the mood of the solid original. Sometimes that’s the job of the remixer, isn’t it?

Summer heat is here and with it the eighth installment of Duro’s international groove compilation "Muy Duro". For this volumen the Mexican record label dig music from Lithuania's Monk Ernie, a seductive collaboration between Time To Sleep & Local Suicide. The first manifestation from Israel, Ido Morali. The debut of Moisees & ZEA in the VA series, and to close the compilation, a collaboration from TAU’s duo, Dominik Marz & Radial Gaze. The opener is "Canned Shoes" by Monk Ernie, a fresh and vigorous cut with a rogue percussionsection, a big funky bass line, a melting electric guitar, wacky arpeggio synthesizers and cooling pads. It’s followed by "I Unfollow", the collaboration between the Croatian Time To Sleep and Berlin based lovely duo, Local Suicide. Seductive melodies, tight drums and phantasmagoric voices lead you through the whole track. From Israel comes Ido Morali with "Mondo3000", a pushing bass kick blended with dozed vocoders and acid sound that sweeps the reality expansion into a hypnotic experience.
Next up is "Wasen" by Moisees and ZEA, a track inspired by DMT trips and Japanese fishing boats. A Strong and mind blowing cut, oriental instruments, psychedelic synthesizers, and rumble drums drive you to the zurna's break. To close the compilation is "Error 707" by Dominik
Marz & Radial Gaze, an epic cut manufactured with powerful drums and beautiful synthesizers, an electric shocks rain.

Side Up Works is releasing their second EP of the year, which features the work of DJ and producer Gleb Bykox from Kharkov, Ukraine. Bykox is the creator of the FRISSON project and is recognized as one of the best DJs in his country, having gained a reputation for delivering top-notch electronic sound at the most relevant underground parties. The EP includes three original tracks, along with a remix by Niv Ast, a renowned DJ and producer from Tel Aviv, Israel.

In my universe, a poetic twist on the Lithuanian word "jūrmylė" makes it alternatively translate to "sea-love", yet it describes not just mere love, but an obsession so strong, that it lures you out of your sanity.

It is dangerous to spend your days under the constant influence of the sea's overwhelming beauty, power, and indifference… because it builds an intense affection - and If you are not careful enough, you will end up deep in the cold.

If it does happen, the sea, after a hundred years or so, will turn your skull into a seashell, but there will be no sound of the sea coming from it.

I am lucky to be alive. I have witnessed it on myself, and I can testify. And you can listen.
