Under the alias Daedelus, Alfred Darlington has been an instigator of electronic music culture for the past 25+ years. A fore-figure of Los Angeles' Beat Scene, they have released 20+ LPs, countless EPs, remixes, and additional productions on labels such as Ninja Tune, WARP, and Brainfeeder. As a performer they're synonymous with controllers, from the grid Monome to computer-free modular, and have played over 1,000+ shows on 6 continents at events ranging from Boilerroom to festival mainstages such as Coachella.

Dj at Dublab, founding faculty member for the Berklee College of Music's EDI (Electronic Digital Instrument) program, and S.E.T.I. artist in residence.

Daedelus has begun to live up to their Greek mythological namesake.

Pedro e os Lobos

is the new project from guitarist and composer Pedro Galhoz.
Pedro e os Lobos is an exercise about musical freedom in which the mix of landscapes alternate between the passion for the desert and the awe by the urban chaos organization, creating the feeling of a voyage through various and different stops.
The quest for the origins and musical simplicity is a constant exercise in this debut record.
Mixing the Blues, the Contemporary and the Dark Pop, with cinematic environments and story telling, which could, in fact, be the soundtrack of an ordinary day-to-day routine, are at the core of this first record.
This record is part of a process of observation and learning from the old masters. It's a record taking steps along a new path which is starting now.

I've been playing music since age 10. Started out on the piano playing classical music (of course). Released my first album as a drummer in 1995 with the band NAGLFAR, the album name is "Vittra" which soon became a classic in the genre. I continued releasing albums with a band we formed back in school, EMBRACING. I later studied composition, arranging and harmony and started the company Morningdew Media.
I've written music for games, trailers, shows and all kinds of media presentations and projects...big and small!
My music ranges from cinematic, classical orchestral music scores, ethnic, jazz, rock/metal, electro, through dubfunk / chill and to dream pop inspired music like Sigur Rós, Apparat etc.
My goal is to keep a fresh sound and continue the road down the halls of music ...
I love organic sounds combined with interesting melodic phrases. Simple is underrated. Complex is underrated too. =)

Slumberland began operations in 1989 as a collective effort consisting of members of DC area bands Velocity Girl, Big Jesus Trash Can/Whorl, Black Tambourine and Powderburns. We were inspired by such musical happenings as C86, early Creation, Postcard, K, Bus Stop, lower East Side noise, and also the renegade art aesthetics & methods of people like Cage, Burroughs and Duchamp. The explosion of punk had left behind a thriving network of 'zines, labels and distributors and we felt that there was room for our noise-loving, pop-obsessed aesthetic. While there were loads of US indie labels releasing a steady stream of 7"s, there wasn't much pop going on. Notable exceptions included Bus Stop, K and Picture Book, and we hoped to join that group and help chisel out some space for melodies amongst the noise.

Early releases from Velocity Girl, Whorl and Black Tambourine struck a note, and we found like-minded popsters getting in touch from all over the world. As we expanded the label roster and our own horizons, the goal was always to share great songs and interesting sounds from a range of styles. Our first burst of activity through the 1990s and early 2000s brought seminal records by legendary bands like Stereolab, Rocketship, The Ropers, Lorelei, The Aislers Set, Hood and Boyracer.

By the mid 2000s we were seeing a resurgence of interest in guitar pop and the start of the ongoing vinyl revival: the perfect environment for Slumberland! We launched into our latest phase of activity with as string of classic releases from The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, Crystal Stilts, Frankie Rose, Veronica Falls, Allo Darlin', Joanna Gruesome and so many more.

2025 is our thirty-sixth (!) year we are still at it, ploughing our own furrow and bringing you unique, genre-defining (and genre-defying!) releases from bands like The Laughing Chimes, Humdrum, The Cords, Autocamper, Jeanines, The Umbrellas, Neutrals, Artsick, Kids On A Crime Spree, Papercuts, Lightheaded, Tony Jay, Chime School, Lunchbox and many, many more. Indie fashions come and go but we're still thrilled by great songs and the new ways that pop can be rejuvenated to fit the times.
