I love this mini-lp... any chance of a re-release on CD / download?

I'd love to hear a polished vocal version of this track. I know they did it live but the bootlegs are a bit shonky. Is there an unreleased vox mix?

This has been a simple and greatly effective source of personal joy for a few years now : pitching down early techno tunes, cheesy trance tracks and various EBM productions, all from some sort of "golden era" between 1990 and 1995...

Slowing down 145BPM warehouse bangers to sexy and sweaty 110bpm "burners" may not work for every oldskool tekno tune, but for the ones I'm sharing here, I think something magic happens, greasy synths and zombified bleeps come back to life for a delicious post tribal renaissance... Well at least that's how they sound to me ;)

For the most part, only non-quantized pitch-down has been applied, a few editing and loops added here and there, but the idea is to re-discover and reveal, not remixing, obviously.

Of course the 33/+8 recipe is nothing new, I've just been doing it for my own pleasure and my dj sets until now, but what's a good thing if you don't share it? Hope you enjoy the slomotionization

The Shamen, a forward-thinking fusion of electronica, acid house and psychedelia began their evolutionary life in Scotland in the mid 1980’s. and released their early albums on Moksha recordings then signed to OLI in 1989. The Shamen introduced the UK to Touring Club events with their 1988 Synergy shows, and were the first UK Band to release Singles, Albums and Live Show broadcasts on the internet in 1995. They were awarded an Ivor Novello for "Songwriters of the Year" in 1992.

The Shamen released 4 LP's on Moksha recordings including the seminal In Gorbachev we trust and a total of four studio albums on OLI including the dbl platinum 'Boss Drum' and gold 'Entact'. 22 of their singles (14 of which were top 50 chart hits - most were club hits) including the controversial Number 1 hit 'Ebeneezer Goode'.

After leaving OLI in '97 due to artistic and contractual differences Colin & MrC & VWJ recorded their LP '"UV", fusing breakbeat-techno and drum 'n' bass, twisted in their own inimitable way - the most metatronic musical merkaba yet to emanate from the Shamen. It was released Winter 98 on the Moksha recordings label.

Post UV, The Shamen departed 3rd Level Density
