artiCHOKE (artichokereadings.com) is a poetry reading series based in Berlin. It aims towards bringing together poets both from the German-speaking context and from other countries/languages, whose work offers points of intersection, and can spark discussion and exchange.
 
Each event is accompanied by a booklet that includes a work sample from the poets, as well as a short critical introduction, and translations of the works presented. These are sold at the events for a small fee or can be ordered from the website. 
 
artiCHOKE aims to create a space for poetry outside of the established German literary and academic institutions, with a focus on work that would not otherwise be heard here.

The series has received funding from City-Tax and the Haupstadtkulturfonds as well as the Berliner Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Europa.
