In 2020, Shanghai Phantom dropped his debut mixtape "Asian Spice," featuring A.D.C, Beijing Daddy, Grace Serene, JayHu, Karamore-Jong, Rae Shen, and 5-Uzi (alphabet order). Connecting artists from different musical and cultural backgrounds, Shanghai Phantom proved that music is such a universal language. The hit song that he did with A.D.C, "Du Yueh-Sheng," reached over 40 million streams worldwide, being played from the hottest nightclub in Shanghai to the public markets in Tibet. His solo single "Phantom" also reaches 50k Stream in the States.

Born in Shanghai, China, Shanghai Phantom, born Yuyang Zhang, grew up in the French Concession area, absorbing both Western and Chinese culture in his childhood. In 2008, he went to the States and lived in Atlanta, GA, for the summer, exchanging lifestyles with locals, and he started to move in between the U.S. and his home country ever since.

In 2021, Shanghai Phantom, Beijing Daddy, and JayHu did their first major debut show in Shanghai, China. Having a classically trained musical background, Phantom is blending different genres with his own unique touch and bi-cultural aesthetics.
