"Majira" means "Seasons" in Swahili and the EP covers autumn, winter and spring. We know that people have been hearing a lot of ethnic vibes recently, but we hope we brought another interpretation of the genre. We wanted to create a spiritual but groovy piece, and this is what came out. You really don't control everything in the creative process. At some point the EP comes to life and is really taking over the artist. You end up serving that work which came alive. When we listen to the end result, we don't understand everything ourselves, it doesn't necessary all make sense: it's ethno and pop, groovy and melancholic, glitchy and organic. Definitely not frictionless. But it's alive now, love it or leave it.

Outside traditional paths these driving grooves and polyphonic structures take the adventure seeking dancer to Dionysian highs and places never been before.

THEY HAD SPENT the morning at the Prado and now were sitting at a place in a building with thick stone waIls. It was cool and very old. There were wine casks around the walls. The tables
were old and thick and the chairs were worn. They ate these and drank more of the manzanilla, which was light and nutty tasting. Catherine had a Spanish-English Method book with a green cover on the table close to her hand and David had a stack of the morning papers. It was a hot day but cool in the old building and the waiter asked, "Do you want gazpacho?" He was an old man and he filled their glasses again. "Do you think the senorita would like it?" "Try her," the waiter said gravely as though he were speaking of a mare. Nearly a year before we’ve released the precious “A.manhã EP” by Brazilian wizard ElPeche. Now is the time to present you five superb remixes of these tracks by the likes of top quality producers like Dandara, Atimos, Jaçira, Afterclapp and Salvador Araguaya. Music to awake your senses and heal your body!
