Evil Medvěd is a Prague-based, Glasgow-born live act (self-identifying as "they/them") who began producing and playing live in 2018. Since then, they have gone on to play live alongside Sapphire Slows, MYHSA and grime producer, A.G. Working with modular, sampling, live re-sampling and have been building messy, turbulent energy into their live sets. In Scotland, they were part of the queer activist DJ duo VAJ.Power, who ran clubnights ‘FUSE’ which aimed to make bass music & 140 genres more accessible for all. 

Fictionkin is a project's debut EP that reflects morphing and proteus sound of Evil Medvěd's live sets. With constant emphasis on airy space and delicate ecosystem of individual tracks it evolves from UK bass music roots to progressive hybrid-club sound-tests. The unique and promising EP is accompanied by the tough selection of remixes by producers from Evil M's home scene (Glasgow's KLEFT and Manuka) and from contemporary Prague club crews (Hyaen and Ancestral Vision).

Truth From The Deepest Source

Ecstatic to share this dream club dance .x. sculpture commission opening today in Reykjavik. I made this mix ‘INTENTION ELEVATION’ following artist Rebecca Erin Moran’s heartwarming invitation to take part in her ‘EVERY BODY HOLDS A BEAT’ project alongside DJs FRZNTE and Chooc Ly and the haunting sculptures of Hallsteinn Sigurðsson. For ‘Hjólið’ / ‘The Wheel’ exhibition celebrating the quinquagenary of The Sculpture Society in Iceland, Rebecca did a really beautiful and inviting gesture of installing disc-shaped concrete dancefloors in between Sigurðsson’s monolithic alloy sculptures that totally look like otherworldly club relics from a past or future time. The attendants of the exhibition and passers-by are invited to dance and occupy with their bodies the dancefloors Rebecca liminally built to play our mixes 💘

I see this as a very important project since it invites people to dance and reconnect with choreographed distance amidst a pandemic, rather than shunning them away from the movements and transmissions of our carrier bodies. This is especially important now when dancing is becoming, in many places, temporarily illegal(!!) rather than spatially adjustable. The framework that Rebecca created with very simple means really touched me in new thought provocations, so I’ll take a further step and confidently say that this project meekly presents one of the many ways that POSTCORONIAL CLUB can take form and that I hope to be seeing further.

I dedicate this mix to the eternalised memory of producer/trailblazer Sigurbjörn Þorgrímsson AKA Biogen. Through Biogen’s trenchant legacy, I was finally able to encounter biopunk in music and be illicitly/musically transported into other bodies. Though this is the first time I present any of my work in Iceland, the Icelandic electronic music scene has been deeply speaking to my heart. Cheers to the Weirdcore collective that Biogen co-founded, thanks for making me feel weirdly at home.

Every Body Holds A Beat is an invitation to unfold. Presence thorough somatic movement in time, an act of infinite forms.  Three dance floors, three djs, many bodies.  Clear your mind, transform the inside outside in, and move your flesh to the beats of Jessika Khazrik, and Chooc Ly and FRZNTE.

Every Body Holds A Beat is a collaborative work in three parts, created by Rebecca Erin Moran for the outdoor exhibition ACROSS THE GOLDEN BRIDGE; a group exhibition of 10 members of the Reykjavík Association of Sculptors, in various locations in Grafarvogur. Avtomat jest jednym z najważniejszych artystów queerowych w Polsce, producentem, DJ-em i wokalistą. Organizuje cykle imprez (m.in. Ciężki Brokat), należy też do prężnego kolektywu Oramics. „Gusła (Human Rites)” to jego pierwsze wydawnictwo od siedmiu lat. Premiera EP-ki 6 listopada nakładem Tańców.

EP-ka „Gusła (Human Rites)” powstała w okresie trudnym zarówno dla Avtomata, jak i każdej innej osoby queerowej w Polsce. Muzyka po części narodziła się w trakcie artystycznej rezydencji w Centrum Sztuki Współczesnej w Warszawie, gdzie kolektyw Oramics odprawił queerowy rytuał uzdrowienia. Artysta opisuje ją jako „kolektywny krzyk społeczności postawionej pod ścianą”. W czerwcu 2020, w przeddzień performansu, Avtomat został aresztowany protestując przeciwko bezprawnemu zatrzymaniu Margot Szutowicz z kolektywu Stop Bzdurom oraz narastającej opresji wobec społeczności LGBTQ+ w Polsce. 

Materiał składa się z czterech agresywnych, klubowych utworów. Ich korzeni można szukać m.in. w polirytmii i synkopach tańców takich jak oberek czy chodzony. Avtomat ma również smykałkę do domowych perkusjonaliów oraz przerabiania starych pieśni na wokalne drony i desperackie wrzaski. EP-kę otwiera tytułowy numer, w którym łoskot garnków i patelni ułożony jest w wirującą, ażurową strukturę. Pozwala to na pozostawienie przestrzeni w miksie dla wprowadzającego napięcie, gumowego groove'u, który ciągnie kawałek do przodu. Z kolei „Szeptucha (Hex Therapy)” to Avtomat gotowy do konfrontacji. Producent ściera ze sobą pełne dramaturgii dźgnięcia akordów, wycie wiedźm i metaliczne dźwięki, rzucając klątwę na osoby odpowiedzialne za codzienną przemoc wobec osób queer.

„Stop Bzdurom (The Bad Gays)” wydaje się być najbardziej wściekłym utworem na płycie. Kawałek dedykowany jest tytułowemu kolektywowi i jego walce z pseudoreligijnymi bzdurami głoszonymi przez podejrzane organizacje pro-life. Ciężarówki oklejone homofobicznymi hasłami jeżdżą po całej Polsce w obstawie policji, nie dziwi więc, że numer oparty jest na dźwięku rzężącego silnika. Inwazja dźwięków, krzyków, uderzeń i brzmień suki biłgorajskiej nawiązuje otwarcie do tej nierównej batalii.

Zamykający EP-kę kawałek „Nieludzie (Ignorance Ha)” jest zaktualizowaną wersją utworu ze składanki „Total Solidarity” wydanej przez Oramics w 2019 roku. Tym razem to nowy minister edukacji Przemysław Czarnek i jego dehumanizujący społeczność LGBTQ+ cytat zostają zagłuszone dźwiękami nadchodzącej zguby. Zniekształcony bas i powolna dekonstrukcja ballroomowej stylistyki brzmią teraz bardziej złowieszczo niż kiedykolwiek.

Zrealizowano w ramach programu stypendialnego Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego – Kultura w sieci.

when homophobic attacks are a daily thing in your hometown you have to grow a thicker skin, but it’s not enough. derealisation gets stronger while you’re working on your second LP “śpie”, you have to constantly tell yourself “I’m a human” as a form of self-therapy and this sentence just sticks with you every day.
then the feeling of not-existing is induced by the polish political speeches you keep hearing so you make music as ecstatic, as colorful, as fast and as physical as you can, but it’s not enough. you’re still a non-human being so you make this music even faster, samples sharper and kicks louder.
and then you have “Human Sapiens Ep” - the collection of songs that make you feel a bit better and make you feel like a Human Sapiens.

Born in 1998, Warsaw-based Julian Płoski has recently been making noise among the Polish experimental scene. Despite only being 22, he can already boast about taking part in various residencies, performing dozens of gigs including one at UNSOUND (which described him as being “on the forefront of a new wave of very young electronic music producers in Poland”), or founding an ever-fluid label 𝑔𝓁𝒶𝓂𝑜𝓊𝓇. Julek’s critically acclaimed debut album "Tesco" saw him shoplifting field recordings while hunting for discount groceries, then genuinely fusing them with bare elements of contemporary club music or IDM into ominous, industrial sound collages. The second LP - “śpie” - released in Czech Gin&Platonic led the listener through extensive hypnagogia occurring during the onset of sleep, with all of its abrupt deflections one may eventually take while attempting to enjoy a quality rest. Now, the time has come to reveal “Human Sapiens Ep” - his clubby coming out.

Intro Pt. "Życie Świata"

Ayin, the indigo goat, the son of the forces of time, became the lord of the knowledge gates, when he lighted up the lamp of the moke with the 26 black diamond delivered by the musk and burned the orchid root.

Samekh, the light-blue hippogriff, the daughter of the reconcilers. She had the heritage of being the bearer of life when one day she received the stanchion of Visnuh. Therefore she headed to the mountain of Apollo, who impressed on her the fate of destroying the dog-headed centaur. As the oracle predict, she burned him in the aloe wood, as a gift for the blue rush, and she saw the temperance, like a breath of wind, spreading allover the earth.

Today Ayin and Samekh, the devil and the temperance, after having gone up the 90.900 steps of the stars, enter the house of Zaddi, the daughter of the firmament, she who dwells between the waters, to manifest theirselves as human, eagle and peacock.



The day of the great conjunction,
when Saturn and Jupiter enter Aquarius, the double negation, the neither neither.
Entering the no-nonsense season,
light a purple candle,
the nights now begins to grow shorter,
the sun enters Capricorn,
marked by the six of swords.
