MindTrip Music was the creation of Buenos Aires born Juan Pablo Pfirter in 2006. The digital-only label acted as a springboard for upcoming Argentinian artists and of course, Pfirter himself, introducing those talents to the rest of the world. 
Over the years, the fledgling label allowed Juan Pablo the ability to experiment and play with music, sounds and textures and develop his own sense of direction and focus. Collaborating and drawing influence and experience from fellow MindTrip Music artists like Jonas Kopp, Flug, Markus Suckut, Psyk and Monoloc, both the label and Pfirter grew in symbiotic proportion. But after 6 years and 48 releases, Pfirter felt the need for change.

Having released on CLR, Stockholm LTD, Stroboscopic Artefacts & Figure, Pfirter’s brand of hypnotic music has touched dancers and listeners the world over. Not only limited to the clubs, Pfirter’s productions have delved deep into the experimental side too. This is the focus and framework of the new label. 
Juan Pablo reinvented and relaunched the MindTrip imprint, showcasing the full degree of his sound. The label changed its name from MindTrip Music to
just MindTrip, releasing vinyl as well as digital utilising a bespoke artwork profile.

Recondite marks his return to Hotflush with the epic, potentially summer-defining 'Caldera' and a sequel to his 2012 hit 'DRGN'. The Bavarian artist has undergone a dazzling rise since that time, and one which is reflected in the increasing opulence of his music.

'Caldera', with its dramatic arpeggios and crescendos, is unabashed big-field decadence. Bearing all the hallmarks on which he's made his name - space, subtlety, build, attention to timbre - over the course of 9 minutes it raises the temperature to white heat. 'DRGN 2' picks up exactly where its 2012 namesake left off; that is, with an arching melody played out over droning tones of insidious intent. Dark, imposing and elegant - this is Recondite at his most wicked.

Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, ‘Satellite’, by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini.

Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin’s Plus8, Sven Vath’s Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like ‘Zoe’, ‘Polyester’ and ‘Fire In My Arms’, all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game.

Incredibly, ‘Satellite’ is Sam’s first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off.

From there it’s a case of getting straight down to business. ‘Another Chance’ is a spacey bit of cantering techno and ‘White’ is rooted in devastating kick drums and is riddled with serrated synth lines that build lots of great techno pressure. ‘Down’ is an undulating bit of funky techno complete with choice vocal flourishes and tracks like ‘Lotus’ are prime offerings from the deeper end of the scale.

No two tracks sound the same on Satellite: Sam is always teasing out a new bit of texture, nailing a slightly different vibe or exploring different amounts of light and dark throughout the course of this most excellent album. This is evidenced by diverse cuts like ‘Dusty’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Rave’.

Despite ‘Satellite’ being Sam’s debut album, it showcases his seductive style in all its glory across 12 fantastic tracks that will leave you begging for more.

BIOGRAFIE (ENGLISCH)

Monoloc was born in 1980 in Frankfurt am Main. He first got in touch with the booming electronic music scene of this Techno metropolis at the age of 16 and soon bought his first set of records. Since then, his life has revolved around his ultimate goal; manifestation of his musical vision in the form of dj sets as well as his very own productions.


Soon after the commencement of his dj career, Monoloc was already getting booked to play at various clubs throughout Frankfurt. Only a few more years had passed before he purchased his first synthesizers and began working on his own productions. As his music was well received from the get go, he decided to take things to the next level and move his provisional production setup from his basement to a rented, professional studio room in Frankfurt´s artist district, Nordend. Undoubtedly a trend-setting move as Monoloc soon found himself with direct studio neighbors Chris Liebing and Brian Sanhaji. After a couple of years of establishing a solid neighborly relationship, they discovered how similar their personal tastes actually were and began collaborating on music. The rest is history. Nowadays Chris Liebing actively contributes with the mix-down of Monoloc´s tracks in his own studio while Brian Sanhaji uses his acclaimed mastering skills to polish them right next door.


Since 2008, Monoloc is successfully running his own label, Smallroom Music, releasing his unique productions in addition to tracks by other promising or established artists. During the same year, his close relationship with CLR continued to flourish. Now, after releasing many original productions and remixes on various respected labels, Monoloc’s first artist album entitled “Drift” will be released in October 2012 on CLR. During the one-and-a-half yearlong production phase, he has gotten closer than ever to manifesting his original musical vision and with that, is increasingly more in demand as a dj.


Monoloc is a musically versatile artist who likes to get lost in his sonic worlds, taking in freely all types of influences from different genres and incorporating them into his productions. In spite of this, his heart beats strongly for Techno –– the heartbeat of his hometown Frankfurt, which has inspired him so generously.

Monoloc wurde im Jahr 1980 in Frankfurt am Main geboren. Im Alter von sechzehn Jahren kam er erstmals mit der blühenden Elektronischen Musikszene dieser Techno-Metropole in Berührung und kaufte schon bald seine ersten Platten. Seitdem dreht sich das Leben dieses talentierten DJ/Produzenten in allererster Linie um eine große Aufgabe, nämlich die Verwirklichung seiner musikalischen Vision in Form von DJ Sets und eigenen Produktionen.

Nachdem Monoloc innerhalb kürzester Zeit schon die ersten Gigs in Frankfurter Clubs verbuchen konnte, dauerte es nur wenige Jahre bis er sich auch seine ersten Klangerzeuger zulegte und sich an die Produktion seiner ersten eigenen Tracks wagte. Die Resonanz war von Anfang an sehr gut, was ihn dazu bewegte die ganze Sache noch ein bisschen seriöser anzugehen und sein provisorisches Studio aus dem heimischen Keller in ein eigens dafür angemietetes, professionelles Studio im Frankfurter Künstlerviertel Nordend zu verlegen. Ein zweifellos schicksalsträchtiger Schritt, da in diesem Studio-Komplex Produzenten wie Chris Liebing und Brian Sanhaji seine direkten Nachbarn waren. Nach ein paar Jahren guter Nachbarschaft begann man sich dann irgendwann gegenseitig auf die Finger zu sehen und merkte wie ähnlich die persönlichen Geschmäcker eigentlich waren. Der Rest ist sozusagen Geschichte. Chris Liebing legt heutzutage in seinem eigenen Studio mit Hand an, wenn Monoloc seine neuen Tracks abmischt, und Brian Sanhaji gibt ihnen dann gleich nebenan mit seinen bekannten Mastering-Fähigkeiten noch den letzten Schliff.

Seit 2008 betreibt Monoloc zudem erfolgreich das Label Smallroom Music, auf dem er eigene Produktionen und Tracks anderer viel versprechender und etablierter Produzenten veröffentlicht. Im gleichen Jahr begann auch seine enge Zusammenarbeit mit CLR, die er sowohl wegen ihrer Professionalität als auch wegen ihrer freundschaftlichen Basis sehr schätzt. Nach vielen erfolgreichen Eigenproduktionen und Remixen auf verschiedenen namhaften Labels wurde im November 2012 Monoloc´s erstes Album namens “Drift“ auf CLR veröffentlicht. In den eineinhalb Jahren die er sich für die Produktion Zeit genommen hat, ist er seiner ursprünglichen musikalischen Vision so nah gekommen wie noch nie, und auch als DJ ist er heutzutage gefragter denn je.

Monoloc ist ein musikalisch vielseitiger Künstler der sich gerne in seinen klanglichen Welten verliert und verschiedenste Einflüsse in seinen Produktionen verarbeitet. Ungeachtet dessen schlägt sein Herz stets leidenschaftlich für Techno – oder man könnte auch sagen - im Einklang mit dem Herzschlag seiner Heimatstadt Frankfurt, die ihn so großzügig inspiriert hat.
