Film and classical composer. Recent University of Michigan graduate in Music Composition & Theory, International Studies and a Business minor. 
Mayumi has composed and arranged music for clients including the United Nations, University of Michigan and the Parliament of Canada. She composed the music for "Chinglish" by Tony award winner David Henry Hwang set in production by the theater department at the University of Michigan. And has also composed music for several short films.
Mayumi graduated with a merit scholarship from the renowned fine arts boarding school Interlochen Arts Academy. She received the Fine Arts Award: Outstanding Merit in Music Composition from Interlochen, and graduated in 2012 with high honors as a Composition Major and Piano principal. With a merit scholarship at the University of Michigan she was a student of Bright Sheng, Evan Chambers, Kristin Kuster and Paul Schoenfeld.  
Mayumi's work has been performed in renowned venues such as Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor, and Sala Nezahualcoyotl in Mexico City, and around the world in Singapore, USA, Mexico, and Japan. Mayumi's orchestra composition Hana o Tobashite won the 2018 ASCAP Morton Gould Award. 
Her composition Shinanogawa no Yube (composed at the age of 13) formed part of the Yamaha's 50th Anniversary National tour and was broadcasted on national Mexican television.
