BIO
Zaatar زْعَتر music is the peculiar combination of both her origins : Moroccan and Belgian. 

She finds her inspiration in the post punk and EBM movement of the late 80’ and early 90’.

Her tracks are therefore built around a gritty and rough baseline that sets the mood for frenetic body dances. Melodies and sounds inherited from her home country - Morocco- completes her soundscape in a way that is her own.

During her DJ sets she invites the public on a captivating journey from light to darkness, an oscillation between joy and melancholy sometimes punctuated by oriental melodies.

Co-founder and resident of the Laisse Tomber Les Filles collective, she works to celebrate women on the decks, freedom and diversity, values that never leave her, especially behind the decks.

She joins the label Ritmo Fatale with the track Abiad Al Layali already considered as an EBM reference.

New York-based Facets has a passion for all things Dark Synth, Techno, Leftfield, EBM, Proto-House, Electro, New Beat, Acid, Italo-Disco, Balearic, and beyond.

Facets' music has been described as "made for the sweaty confines of the dancefloor's fog-filled spaces—ones that flicker with strobes and neon lights, alight from the energy of the crowd." Hot on the heels of his recent releases on Optimo Music. Dischi Autunno, Ombra International, Skylax, Soil Records,  Khoinix, and Electric Shapes. More original music from Facets will be out soon on Sonic Groove, Pinkman, Blk Market's 12" Party edits, and more.  

Over the years, Facets has released edits on his personal channel and through various outlets, including Calypso's 12" series, Death on Wax, Amor Fati, Ransom Note, Hard Fist, Whypeopledance, and Italo Moderni, to name a few.

Facets has been billed with some of the scene's top talent, such as John Talabot, Ivan Smagghe,  Ellen Allien, Vladimir Ivkovic, Moritz von Oswald, Adam X,  Lena Willikens, Solar, Kim Ann Foxman, Curses, Perel, Phase Fatale, Lindstrom, Interstellar Funk, Tornado Wallace, Franz Scala, Khidja, and lots more, in top underground venues in the US, Mexico, and Europe.

Facets is also the founder of Samo Records and Samo Nights, the club night associated with the label. Over the years, he has booked the likes of Black Merlin, Manfredas, Joakim, Jex Opolis, Zombies in Miami, Sacha Mambo, Wrecked, DatKat (Analog Soul), Sharlese, Hugo Capablanca, In Flagranti, DJ Overdose, Patrick Russell, Sharif Laffrey, Jellyfish and more.

Additionally, Facets founded Italomatic, Brooklyn’s premier italo-disco, new wave, freestyle, and synth party, alongside Andi (Synthicide) and Rok One.

Camy Huot is known for driving the pulse of the underground scene via her Wavecrash events, Too Many Creeps livestreams, Batcage Radio shows and DJ sets at live shows & festivals like Best Kept Secret, Gothic Pogo, Club Solitaire, WaveFest and Grauzone. On stage she explores the depths of minimal wave, synth punk, electro, and EBM, weaving them into an evocative sonic journey.

Her debut EP "Echoes In My Room" is showcasing her growth as a producer and her commitment to creating introspective electronic music. In a recent article by Post-Punk.com, her debut single is described as a "fevered sound collage of rhythm and reverberation," capturing the lingering sensations of a night out. Camy Huot explains that the track reflects the experience of returning home with sounds still resonating, serving as "an ode to the mistakes we made at night." The full EP is slated for release in Spring 2025 under Wave Tension Records.

Marie aka Zaatar is a Belgian-Moroccan DJ and producer based in France. 

Her style blends electro, EBM, and new beat, weaving retro energies with North African influences into sets that are as unpredictable as they are intense.

As a producer, you could have noticed her on labels such as Dischi Autunno, Ritmo Fatale, "R.A.ND x Echocentric" on DC Salas last album where she co-produced a track or "Es Mi Momento", the new label of Zimmer.

PCK es un coleccionista de música en todos los formatos, ha escrito sobre música en distintos fanzines y revistas. Influenciado principalmente por el Punk, Post Punk y New Wave comienza a seleccionar música en el año 2014, ha colaborado con los colectivos Terror Clash, Mutant Disco, Techno Bastards, Misa Negra, Colapso, Sintetika Secuencia, Blood Coven, Miseria (Alemania), etc.
