Cold Project is a visionary electronic music project born in late 2005, rooted in the dark, atmospheric sounds of early 2000s Scandinavian forest-trance. Inspired by pioneers like Son Kite, Tegma, and Ticon, the project crafts hypnotic, brooding rhythms that blend experimental textures with driving energy.

Emerging from the South African electronic music scene, Cold Project was created to bring something uniquely dark and innovative to the dance floor. With a mission to bridge the gap between progressive and full-on trance, the project delivers immersive sonic landscapes that push boundaries and defy genre conventions.

Cold Project continues to captivate listeners worldwide, offering a sound that is both evocative and forward-thinking, a testament to its dedication to creating music that resonates deeply and stands apart.

🌿 From Doofs to Dimensions 🌀
It all began in the wild landscapes of Tasmania, where I was first introduced to the raw magic of doof culture — where the music was raw, hypnotic, and unlike anything ever heard. It felt less like a party and more like entering another universe, a journey through sound and energy.

Those gatherings lit a fire, leaving me with a hangover of rhythm, spirit, and connection that refused to fade. I stepped behind the decks — at first exploring and mixing across genres, chasing the flow that unites and moved both body & spirit. Over time, my path gravitated towards the grooves of Psy-Tech and the immersive storytelling of Dark Progressive — weaving sets that are both primal and cosmic.

Today, under the name Sharmonix, I carry that spirit forward — crafting music not just to hear, but to experience: a transformative alchemy of sound.
