I purchased the WWE Network the other day, and it's one of the finest investments I've made in such a long time!

I watched Survivor Series 2014 and got goosebumps I'd not felt for a long time when watching wrestling, and it was because of Sting. Legendary icon of wrestling.

I was inspired to do this just out of enjoyment, out of my younger 10 year old self watching WCW and WWF/E at the height of the Monday Night Wars revelling in one of my favourite entrance themes. 

I adapted it and made it slightly heavier, but you can definitely still here the theme of Sting from back then. Don't care if you don't like wrestling, I do, so there you go :) ENJOY!

Sting - The Crow

I'm back with a new track! Sorry it's been so long. There have been a lot of creative struggles lately after the Middle Passage composition. If you want the back story on my frustrations, always ask :)

This is a lot of frustration I've had built up released in one of a few tracks I've got coming soon, before I settle back into writing progressive music again and other types of metal. Apologies for the extensive amount of time away, but I will be back with a bit more regularity from now on.

Push

This is a fast and furious black metal styled track. It hits hard, fast and very often!!

That's the most appropriate description I can give. Short and sweet, unlike the track itself; long and punishing!

Beneath The Flesh

I've wanted to do some piano based pieces for a while, so here's two of them at once put together.
The first piece is very upbeat, has a very Dream Theater-esque piano feel about it, as it was inspired by Jordan Rudess, without having anywhere near his skill level!
The second piece is much slower in tempo, very nice chords in my opinion, with a simple melody line following over the top.

Piano Pieces

It's the track for May 6 days late! Apologies for this, had a few computer issues in that my CPU fan had taken a bit of wear and tear and fell off my motherboard! This made things difficult to record, but not impossible!

Onto the track!

It'sa very KoRn inspired track, or Nu-Metal if you prefer. I love the heavy sound of it, really digging into the low ends of the bass and pushing it a little with some drive, the tone of the guitars complimenting this well and the drums are powerful. I can't ask for more, and I really enjoyed writing and recording this.

I was inspired by a machine where I work, it sets off on a certain rhythmic pattern, which is what you can hear in the opening riff, the bent notes and note divisions in the riff. Be inspired by everything!!

Crushing Daisies

This is my track for July, it is late as hell, but things happened! Anyway, the track is now done, I'm kind of happy with it, but also know that there are improvements I can make to it in terms of structure for sure.

It is heavily, if not entirely, influenced by Fear Factory, who I've been listening to quite a bit recently, who are well known to use machine gun-like drums and riffs to the absolute best, and I wanted to use this, but also just write something in that sort of style.

Failure

I wanted to create a track that was inspired by a specific Winter Soldier soundtrack track, which is also called The Winter Soldier (track 6 on the OST) and my love of Transformer films even though 90% of people hate them.

I wanted to use some glitch vst's, drum patterns, sub basses and combine them all together to create what should feel like a hectic, or building to a hectic chase throughout!

These are the last 3 tracks of 2017, completing my 12 tracks for the year, 1 for every month, despite being sidetracked ever so slightly by life shall we say!!

It's been a challenge for sure, but a fulfilling one!

Days Gone By

After a 12 - 18 month period of creative struggles, I'm finding my way back to writing music again. This is the first full track I've completed in 2 years. I love the sound of it, I like the simplicity of it, as well as some technical sections too. 
I recognise as well that this may not be my very best work, but it's something of a milestone for me, and one that I'm proud of.

I wrote this 6 years, went back and listened to it and thought it sounded terrible. So i've remastered it and re-uploaded it. I like it now :)

Prison Of Chaos - New

I wrote the vast majority of this in 2007, when I first really discovered Progressive Rock and Progressive Metal. But to be fair, I didn't really know what I was doing, I just wanted to put it all together and see what would happen.

So here we are 6 years later, and I threw a lot of orchestra in there to beef up the sound and add the drama. Then created a middle section that was very much done "on the fly" as it were. One of the greatest things about progressive is that it allows you to pretty much do anything, and it's all good!

Then the solos came around, and I just went for it, no planned solos or anything aside from the moog solo and keyboard guitar doubled solo. Not bad so far!

The ending revisits the opening of the track, minus the drums and added in guitars. Fade out and SCENE!
