Shaw Cuts is happy to welcome a new face to the label squad: Lazarus, a young producer from Nuremberg, yields the perfect soundtrack for ‚The Magic Blade‘ with his debut record. 
The story begins with another clash between arch-rivals Fu Hung Hsueh and Yen-Nan Fei, two of the country’s most skilled swordsmen, both on a quest to number one. ‚Rhea’ sets the perfect tempo for the duel with its heavyweight drums, revolving percussion and energetic pads. 
Clanking swords are interrupted by the arrival of shady company - followers of the mysterious underworld swayer sent by Master Yu who wants Yen-Nan Fei’s head. Fu Hung Hsueh and Yen-Nan Fei join forces, slaying the villains in seconds. ‚Reverof Nema‘ rolls in, its commanding rhythm and moody chords giving the swordsmen new force and vitality. 
Yu wants to eliminate the swordsmen so that they never gain possession of the Peacock-Dart, an indestructible weapon with thanatophoric effects and the object of Yu’s desires. But Fu Hung Hsueh and Yen-Nan Fei have already picked up the scent. Bloody battles follow against more of Yu’s entourage. The race against time is led by the energetic synth delirium and savage drums of ‚Casio Flex‘, leading Hsueh and Fei safely to the sublime weapon. 
The duo journey on, defending the Peacock-Dart until they reach Yu’s temple. The final showdown. ‚Overcome’ and its warped groove, warm synths and thundering drums bring Master Yu to his knees and the netherworld. But who was Master Yu? Was it you? The myth lives on…

[SC008] LAZARUS - THE MAGIC BLADE

R&S founder Renaat Vandepapeliere launches part two of his new series RV Trax, an imprint to reflect the sound of his DJ sets and to give a platform to artists not based on social media likes or online hype.

Finally succumbing to the temptation to try his own hand at rocking the crowd his DJ sets have seen him assemble a treasure trove of unreleased music that will now find a very personal home on RV Trax. Emblazoned with the Belgian national colours of black, yellow and red these tracks proudly flaunt their 'floor-filling dynamics.

Part two explores classic House and Techno sounds from artists based in France, Italy and England.

Wavescape is Paul Weston who first appeared under this name in the golden era of original UK tech-house releasing alongside the likes of Ian O'Brien and Downlink on labels like Solid groove records and Mark Ambrose's Crayon records. 'Voyager' is classic jazz-techno that wouldn't look at of place on an import with the 313 postcode stamp.

A-Sim is a brand new artist from France who has just released a debut EP on Frankfurt's Rawax making him label mates with the likes of Gigi Galaxy, Marco Bernardi and Neil Landstrumm - all artists he shares some DNA with. 'Love & Hate' is slinky deep electro that also takes inspiration from UK bass.

Marc Vain drops some trademark deep techno that makes it clear why he has picked up high profile fans like Anthony Shakir, Sean Deason, Terrence Parker and Jay Denham over the years. Blackstone is a new artist from Italy who supplies a lively drum track dj tool. Mix it up don't play it raw.

On the flip side, we have Animistic Beliefs that delivers a fantastic remix of “North Electric Mist”. Their snappy baseline in combination with the aggressive synth lets every club visitor be on his toes and wanting for more.

The EP ends with “A Blink of Hope into the Fog” and that’s exactly what it sounds like. A feel-good ambient piece which is the perfect conclusion to this EP.

Artists bio:

Andrey Sinitsin aka sinitsin started his musical journey as a drummer in a rock band. However, he has always been interested in experimenting with different genres, including electronic music. His interest in electronic music led him to dive deeper into the production realm of music creation and he began to understand how his favorite tracks were made. With this insight, he began writing music himself. He now mainly focuses on creating electro, techno, and IDM.

The Droid is the futuristic, dystopian, electro-funk moniker of 22 year old Ben Evans. The Droid is taking over with recent releases on Bass Agenda Recordings, Digital Distortions, KinETiK Records, Breakfast Musik BCN with much more to come later this year.
