Following the release of Faulter’s Obstinacy earlier this year, we’ve turned two long-standing CF regulars and welcome two newcomers to provide their takes on the label co-founder’s debut club collection.

As with the original, the remix EP unfolds in 2 halves: a pair of minimal-rooted 4-to-the-floor club tools, followed by a heady ‘B-side’ steeped in techno and IDM.

Label mainstay Syz kicks things off with a bouncy rendering of the title track in signature production style with his ‘Space Carnival Mix’, while the elusive B. McQueen dives into Zaf, providing a skippy, rolling tech-house backbone that brings the dubby elements of the original track into full club mode.

On the flip, it’s a genuine pinch-me moment at CFHQ to feature one of our all-time favourites, Forest Drive West, transforming Perspectives into an unforgettable slo-mo chug-dub-techno trip full of the intensity only he can deliver. Rounding off, our best-loved Bristolian Yushh leans into the 90bpm range with her Swamp-pusher remix, a twisted headfuck of a beat (good luck dancing to this one), reminiscent of early Squarepusher productions.

Premiere: Konalgad - Layers Dissolve

Berlin-based Mexican artist Viiaan unveils her new EP “Taiko”, a bold four-track exploration of rhythm, ritual, and futuristic bass. The title, “Taiko,” is drawn from the Japanese word for “drum,” symbolizing both the instrument itself and the communal force of ancient drumming ceremonies.
Across the EP, Viiaan fuses primal percussion with razor-sharp digital textures, shaping rhythm into pure motion.
The opening track, “Taiko,” sets the tone with glitchy micro-sounds that feel alive, mechanical yet organic. Massive drum strikes collide with synthetic fragments, evoking a futuristic tribal ritual.
“Amaterasu” continues with breakbeat ferocity, drenched in juicy percussion while a vocal slides in with raw confidence, charging the track with direct, physical energy. “Elohalo” shifts gears into rolling trap-inspired rolls, sub-heavy grooves and driving percussion. Its vocal accents keeping the intensity taut and immediate. Finally, “Azkhar” digs deeper — heavy, spacious, and alive with rhythmical chopped reese drones and flowing tribal grooves.
Between mechanical precision and primal power, the EP captures rhythm as a timeless human language — ancient in spirit, modern in execution.

About Viiaan

Viiaan, the sonic alchemist from Mexico City, has transplanted her musical vision to the streets of Berlin, where she continues to shape a world of sound that defies categorization. Active as a producer, DJ, and curator since 2017, she stands at the crossroads of experimental electronics and club culture.
As the visionary force behind Voragine, a label that serves as a meeting point for artists working across experimental sound, and visual art, Viiaan’s work blurs the lines between the introspection and the physical. 
Her sound is a living organism: breaks, intricate percussions, ambient atmospheres,  left field bass,  and techno intertwine to form a sonic language that refuses containment. It's a symphony of diversity that refuses to be confined, and this refusal is the lifeblood of her artistic vision.
Her discography reads as a journey with releases on Woozy Dub (Dublin), Sumac (Berlin/Sydney), Causal Chain (Montreal), WVWV (CDMX), and her own imprint, Voragine. Each release reveals another facet of her evolving artistry.

French-based Virtual Forest Records delivers an intercontinental ode to its corner of the international underground with 'Diplopia', a 13-track compilation featuring collaborative contributions from pole to pole. With increasing synergy, France's psy-tipped fringes mirror that of Australia's, pushing a depth in sound and space that each country's raves and DIY festivals have become known for.

French producer RM Estali's collaboration with Naarm/Melbourne's LOIF, 'Cutting The Rind', is a perfect example of this synergy. Chunky snares lay the groundwork for a near conversational dubstep wobble, before it settles into full psy-breaks swing. 

Of the collaboration, RM Estali shared that "Declan (LOIF) came to play in Paris at Les Amarres last year, and finished his set with some nasty dnb tracks. When I found out we were gonna make a tune together, I was like, 'what don't we have a shot at making a track like that?'"

'Diplopia' releases on Wednesday, November 26 via Virtual Forest Records' Bandcamp.

London-based label beam records returns with a new EP from enigmatic friend of the label, mystery sister. Oozing with playful psychedelia, the 'Silkworm' EP basks in the afterglow as it explores 'turn-of-the-millennium tek haus and mnml'. On the Sunrise Mix of 'Of The Mind', the track does it exactly what it says on the tin. A warm and silky track for those blossoming early hours where the sun starts to peak through the landscape, creating a beautiful hue on those around you. 

It's all in the name really.

Transient Glow traces a full narrative arc through bass, dubstep, and techno, unfolding like a journey from shadow into light.
Opening with Astro, the compilation sets a meditative tone: a deep, dubstep intro that feels expansive and introspective, drawing the listener into its gravitational field. The energy then pivots sharply with Tenebrescence, a dark and charged cut where heavy bass pressure and intensity take centre stage.

From there, Moongazer brings bounce and breath back into the mix, staying rooted in dubstep but leaning into more contemplative and luminous territories. Auradub then eases the energy into calmer waters: a spacious, dub-leaning track that guides the ear from the heavier early moments toward the EP’s warmer, dub-techno-inflected closing half.

The mood loosens with chug-chug, a playful dub-techno roller punctuated by spoken elements: a lighter, less serious moment that resets the atmosphere. Finally, Drosera closes the journey on a deeply emotive note: a proggy, dub-techno composition where subtle melodies and evolving textures bring a sense of resolution.
