در اوایل دهۀ هشتاد شایان گروه موسیقی واژخنیا را تاسیس کرد. واژۀ واژخنیا از دو بخش «واژه» و «خنیا» تشکیل شده، که بنابر گفتۀ خود شایان برگردان کلمه «رپ» به فارسی است. بدین سان که واژخنیا همان خنیای واژه ها یا موسیقی کلمات می‌باشد. گروه واژخنیا افزون بر خود شایان، شامل هوشنگ، کیومرس، و شاهپور بوده و تا کنون به فعالیت مشغول است. رپفارسی
In the early 2000s, Shayan founded the music band Vajkhonya. “Vajkhonya” consists of the two words “vaj” and “khonya,” which in Persian mean “word” and “music” respectively. Accordingly, Vajkhonya is actually “the music of words.” Made up of four members namely Shayan himself, Houshang, Qmars, and Shapoor, the gangster rap band Vajkhonya is actively producing songs in the music industry to this day as of 2023.
