Founded in 2011 by Jamie and Bo as a two man band, later that year Kristian (Bo's cousin) joined the band.

As far as electronic music I am inspired by a combination of the entire spectrum of industrial music, ambient music, glitch music, and film scoring textures. I actually used to play guitar in a lot of punk rock and heavy metal bands as well as perform classical & flamenco music for classical guitar recitals. I even worked for a short period of time as a classical guitar teacher and studio guitarist. I love the aesthetics of the "shoe-gaze" genre and that is the major reason I stopped being in bands, I almost came to blows with a few people over my usage of ambient effects. As far as my tastes in music and how they might seam to contradict, the best way I can describe it is that I'm into both ancient and modern forms of art music. I am a really big fan of marginal and abstract arts as well, which is usually what I'm doing when I am not making music. I am very proud to be a hardlined anti-establishment, anti-materialistic, anti-consumeristic, anti-capitalistic, anti-corporate, and anti- commercialistic individual, which guides my creative directions

Phavian is a Los Angeles-based band created out of no mold. This unique project often take listeners from soft, beautiful, melodic passages to heavy, intense, riff-driven segments within the span of a single song. Viewing music as a boundless art, they use unconventional rhythms, orchestrations, and melodies as tools in crafting a sonic world for listeners to delve into.

The band was created as a musical entity focused on composition, which led to the creation of their debut album, Kiena. After Kiena’s release, Phavian spent 2009 gigging, touring, and promoting their music. 2009 was a year filled with learning experiences that helped the band grow as performers and artists.

Using their recent experience and prolific nature to their advantage, Phavian has embarked on an unheard of endeavor: a four-album concept. While promoting Kiena, they began crafting a two-part concept that, in part due to length, was broken into four separate releases: Meridian I, Meridian II, Inversion, and Stretta. The recording process for all four albums began in February of 2011, with the first of the albums, Meridian I, scheduled for a late 2011 release. Each consecutive album will follow closely behind. The new albums are proof that the band has been hard at work honing and carefully refining their craft in order to create a more intricate, entrancing, and mature sound.

Phavian began as a vessel for creating music with no boundaries. The next couple of years will be the playground for them to prove that music is still a thriving art form.



Welcome to Souzatone Music, a home for Niko Sola's wayward music projects along with some sets by close friends and family. Most of the new tracks have some combination of myself and Tim Malone or Nate Murphy. James Sassano & Jim Healey lend a hand on a few tracks as well.  It's all over the map from folkish to rockish to punkish to even a little hiphoppish. All songs are originals written by some combination of the 3 of us. Most Mayall Road songs are Tim and Niko, while TRiPODs are usually Niko and Nate. The Fellowslip stuff is mostly solo but that may change in time. Ideally it will become an internet collaboration effort, but it's early on for that stuff. 

On these recordings, I use GarageBand & Logic as studio platforms and utilize plugins from Native Instruments, SoundToys, Anteres and a great many others. Microphones are from Shure and M-Audio. Amps are Fender, Roland or more often simulated. Vintage Boss Japan pedals used wherever possible along with the Electro Harmonix Holy Grail. Guitars used include Gibson (ES-135, ES-225, WM45), Epiphone (Riviera P-93, Zephyr Regent), Fender (Stratocasters, P-Bass), Michael Kelly (Hourglass Quilt, Phoenix JZ), Agile (2800DLX), Souza Guitars (Numbah 1), Yamaha (Acoustics), Martin (Acoustics).

Jeff Souza and George Souza (as part of the Frank Smoller Trio) appear because they're family and both have inspired me to play and collect guitars. I wouldn't be doing any of this without both of them treading this path before me. Please have a listen, both are incredible musicians. 

Jeff's acoustic sessions CD is actually quite a departure for him. I grew up listening to him play along with Iron Maiden and Van Halen. In later years he's played jazz or Spanish tinged originals while plugged in. He regularly plays out on Cape Cod with Donnie Wilson as part of the Portuguese Kennedeys. They combine hits from the Beetles, Elvis Costello and the Rolling Stones with blues classics. I've attached a link below, check them out!

George Souza passed away in June of 1999. Our entire family was blessed to be able to hear his guitar being played nearly every holiday, family event as well as at fairs and festivals. This album recorded at the Flying Bridge Restaurant on Cape Cod in the early 70's. George never learned how to read music, and his renditions of familiar tunes show a flair for originality as well as a flair for, well flair. Fast fingers and beautiful tone were his calling cards and I'm so thankful to Chris Souza for having this vinyl converted to digital audio. Our music and those close to us live on long after we do. 

Last but not least, check out Frank Heiss' SoundCloud area and website. Frank's a good friend and amazing electronic musician, composer and has ascended from paduan learner to Jedi Master. A drummer by training, he's found a way to play live electronica with drumsticks and the voodoo that is a DrumKat and Ableton or some other grey magic. Associated with Liquid Sky, Frank has performed worldwide and releases a great many CD's under the Tube, DJ Not, Donut Boy and Hardware Junkiez monikers. The Force is strong with him. 

Who is Niko Sola? I've lived in Quicksand, wondered When is Tomorrow, nearly drowned going Down the River but have finally found a little Peace of Mind. I still might be the Strangest Man I Never Knew, but I now know not to Walk Out That Door. Out of the studio and in street clothes, I go by N Parece. I'm an IT engineer by trade and live just outside of Boston with my amazing wife and daughter. So, what's with the band's name? We chose The Purple Sound Barrier mainly because that was the name of our band in 7th grade. The Purple Sound Barrier is and was:

HaZarD96! was formed back in 2006 by members of My Reavers Tomb and Black Times Infinity. The group’s first album single was released in October 2008 on the Irond Records and quickly sent shockwaves throughout the underground metal community. From that moment on, the group played shows further establishing their stronghold as one of the genre’s finest. In January 2008, HaZarD96 added two new members to their line- up, A. Sn0rk (vocals) and Dmitry «Delaware» Shel (drums), and moved to the studio to record the Of Fear Zero Single. After spending most of the past year perfecting their new material going into 2009 proved to be a turning point in the young band’s career as it marked the planned release of their EP CD with on Irond Records. HaZarD96 release, Of Fear Zero, was produced by guitarist John «HaZarD96», mixed by Evgen Vinsen (Luna Aeterna, TantaL) ) and mastered by Maor Applebaum (Yngwie Malmsteen, Godwrath etc.). This album is a relentless slab of balanced aggression matched with impeccable Synth-Electro sounds and it quickly raises the bar for their peers.
