From his first EP release in 1996, British producer Inigo Kennedy has built a sound which embraces both the traditional and the ambitious - as well as the emotional, the organic and the energy of live performance. Continuously studying the effects and capability of digital equipment, Kennedy has released in excess of 100 records, either as himself or through alternative monikers (Reducer, Tomito Satori). He has released these records on labels such as Missile, Semantica and his own Asymmetric. Since 2007 Inigo Kennedy and Belgian label Token Records have had a particularly close and fruitful relationship. Kennedy released three times on the Ghent-based label last year, including the thumping 'Emitter' and spiralling epic 'Cathedral'.

In April 2014 Inigo returns to Token - and with a project that feels like the culmination of all those years and all those records: a CD, 12'' single and 2x12'' LP under the banner of Vaudeville. In true, theatrical manner, Vaudeville is a collection of differing themes - from the abstract and freakishly odd to the direct and resonant. And just as the Vaudevillian shares a common purpose with his co-stars as the 'voice of the city'('voix de ville'), there runs through the centre of this record a clear narrative for urban experience.

'Narrative' presages the mood with a cold wind, before 'Birth' emerges with rain on the ground and a helicopter searching in the swirling darkness. 'Requiem', next, is more direct, as a warm kick and frenzied timbres interlock; the rumble recalls echoing and unhappy machinery. As one cornerstone of the record, 'Plaintive' is Requiem's anxious but happier brother: an organ winds its way down a slope, as soft toms herald the start of reflection on a heroic journey. 'Lullaby' has a deep and echo-laden undercurrent, building from afar but also warm and so incredibly close. 'Vallecula' is lower slung still, the atmosphere rough and moments before the morning light: the uncertain hour, the uncomfortable and unpredictable, a paranoid heartbeat. 'Winter' is the rolling patter of rain through clashing snare taps and dragging hi hats, solid thumps in haunted isolation. 'Petrichor' strides like a boss through his realm, again enwrapped in dank surroundings. 'Aleph' is the coolest act, a tremor of synth and an icy kick of determination. It's a race through the streets in sturdy boots, swirling in its certain melody. And at last there is the final cornerstone - 'NGC5128' (a galaxy in the constellation of Centaurus). A reflective end, this galactic rumble is late-of-bar heavy, and has a fitting space synth jagging in and out.

As a whole Vaudeville is a presentation of space, industry and enveloping urban darkness in a single, turbulent journey. It is the culmination of an organic and emotional approach to production. It is Inigo Kennedy at his finest.

Adam Beyer’s new EP titled ‘Teach Me’ is an accomplished piece of work that highlights Beyer's year thus far. 'Teach Me' starts with some eerie chords before the distinctive vocal kick in and the track drops into a rumbling techno track. ‘Darlek’ uses rhythmic beeps and huge synth stab to create a funky rhythm before the atmospheric pads create a beautiful setting for this incredible techno track. ‘Stop Talking’ is a deeper offering from Beyer using weird and unusual noises to create and interesting piece of work that is helped along by the throbbing bass underlying in the track. ‘Spaceman’ uses a rhythmic vocal, percussion and sub bass to turn this track into a funky techno piece.

Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, ‘Satellite’, by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini.

Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin’s Plus8, Sven Vath’s Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like ‘Zoe’, ‘Polyester’ and ‘Fire In My Arms’, all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game.

Incredibly, ‘Satellite’ is Sam’s first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off.

From there it’s a case of getting straight down to business. ‘Another Chance’ is a spacey bit of cantering techno and ‘White’ is rooted in devastating kick drums and is riddled with serrated synth lines that build lots of great techno pressure. ‘Down’ is an undulating bit of funky techno complete with choice vocal flourishes and tracks like ‘Lotus’ are prime offerings from the deeper end of the scale.

No two tracks sound the same on Satellite: Sam is always teasing out a new bit of texture, nailing a slightly different vibe or exploring different amounts of light and dark throughout the course of this most excellent album. This is evidenced by diverse cuts like ‘Dusty’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Rave’.

Despite ‘Satellite’ being Sam’s debut album, it showcases his seductive style in all its glory across 12 fantastic tracks that will leave you begging for more.

As the dust finally begins to settle after the release of Pan-Pot's massive album 'The Other', it's time to unleash a collection of heavy hitting reworks from the best and brightest stars of todays techno elite. Through careful consideration and an acute attention to detail, we couldn't be more elated to confirm ten artists we know and love to contribute their unique vision to Second State's first ever remix package.

Kicking things off with a heavily twisted alteration of 'Attention' is Nicole Moudaber and it's a tangled, dark trek through dense acoustic layers of audible madness. Next up is the Hamburg duo

Extrawelt with their twist on 'Optimistic Grey' and they deliver a beautiful blend of emotion and groove they are synonymous for.

Following suit is another passionately romantic number from man of the hour, Stephan Bodzin, and his take feels like floating through a sea of clouds, resulting in a timeless classic to be a focal point in any set for years to come.

Next in line is Ray Kajioka's take on '808 Nirvana' and it's a cosmic ride, ripe with swirling atmospherics laid over big churning drums and rolling cymbals.

Following up on the second 12“ of this LP is a man who needs no introduction: Carl Cox. And in true Coxy fashion he turns 'Riot' into just that: a big room, tension building monster!

Broken Engine' is the next track to get worked over and Wigbert delivers a stunning mix of shimmering tones and growling bass resulting in a lush venture through a cosmic backdrop of flickering stars in deep space.

Joseph Capriati ensues with his vision of 'Fugitives' and he brilliantly keeps the vibe of the original yet adds his trademark big room flair to take it to another level of driving euphoria.

Enlisting the talents of Alan Fitzpatrick to remix one of the slower listening tracks on the album turned out to be magic. With his signature percussion, Fitzpatrick takes the parts and creates a dive deep into sultry smooth waters of seduction.

The first of our last two remixes, which are digital exclusives, come from Paul Ritch and he delivers a grinding rendition of 'Riot', expertly crafted for the more euphoric peak time occasions.

Last and certainly not least is a man on the rise, Kevin Knapp with his twist on his own collaboration with Pan-Pot: 'Get In'. An expertly crafted tech house jam exploding with energy and attitude perfect for any moment, day or night, indoors or out.

No matter the time or place, there is something here for everyone and we are truly fulfilled and honored to present this package of cutting edge artists to celebrate this landmark moment. We know you will enjoy!

Tresor Records marks its 250th release with a very special project indeed. Continuing to forge ahead whilst remaining ever mindful of its legacy, Tresor proudly presents Infiniti - The Remixes: a trilogy of classic cuts and new reworks from one of its original Detroit linchpins Juan Atkins.

Dubbed as his “pure techno” project, Atkins produced two full-length albums under the Infiniti moniker—The Infiniti Collection, released by Tresor in 1996, and Skynet two years later. 16 years on and they are as relevant today as they were pioneering then, brought further up-to-date here with a series of fresh takes from some of techno’s pioneering and esteemed figures: Thomas Fehlmann, TV Victor, Function, Redshape, Sleeparchive and the re-release of dubtechno vanguard Moritz Von Oswald's remix of "Think Quick", originally released in '94 on Metroplex.

Part One - The Orb’s Thomas Fehlmann picked two tracks, one in each album, to form a very special combo-mix. The shimmering “Walking On Water” and "Raindrops" come together in a beautiful old-school sounding version. Tresor Records ambient stalwart TV Victor plies his vision to present a hypnotic take on the gently elevating “Thought Process”. 

Part Two picks up the pace, heading further down the timeline with “Flash Food”—originally released in 1995 as part of one of the label’s famous annual compilations, re-edited by Sandwell District’s Function. Skynet’s punchy classic on the flip, “Skyway” rounds off the EP with a killer old-school remix by techno’s masked crusader Redshape.

Part Three concludes with a remix package of The Infiniti Collection’s brooding slow-burner “Think Quick”, backed with an offering from one of Berlin’s revered electronic practitioners Sleeparchive and the re-release of Moritz Von Oswald's remix, initially released on Metroplex in 1994 - a rarity.
