We created the Kashay Salon Podcast in an effort to share with you our passion for music and blessed sonic journeys, with no borders and the inclusion of all ethnicities and walks of life. Each episode features various artists curated for their embodiment of the ideals of the Kashay Salon, embracing as we do different cultures and peoples from around the globe.

We focus on the diverse and multicultural sounds of organic house, downtempo & slow rave, deep tech, and groovy world rides. Come join us as we set out on melodious musical expeditions. And this episode is presented by @niludk

Copenhagen based @niludk has been creating quite a buzz of late, building on his already impressive list of key parties and clubs he’s graced over the last years.

Being a key part of Copenhagen clubs, @cultureboxcopenhagen and Werkstatt, he also brought his signature deep, melodic sounds to the likes of Sisyphos (Berlin), Sankeys (Ibiza), Trump Room (Tokyo), The Block (Tel Aviv) to name just a few.  

After his recent success EP’s on Zatar Music and EIN2, @niludk will have his debut on the German imprint @einmusik with a 3 track EP on Dec. 23

⚱️📜 BIO 📜⚱️
Stéphane Salerno started with music with the electric guitar at 12 years old. At 21, he turned professional and started a European tour with guitarist composer Fred Frith.

He continued his career rubbing shoulders with various great personalities like Albert Marcoeur with whom he collaborated for 7 years. Next was with Famodou Konaté, with whom he learned percussion in Guinea. After that, Sidiki Yayo was his kora master in Guinea. Aftet that, Mahama Konaté with whom taught him balafon and African percussion.

In the following years, he discovered oriental music. He studied oud and the ney flute. Next, he returned to the guitar and studided flamenco, which, over the next few years, drew him towards Indian and Turkish music, where I discovered and studied santur, sarangi, dirluba and saz. He then began to apply all the learning under masters and developed his own unique style, teaching himself new techniques.

He progressed from musician, to multi-instrumentalist , to performer , to composer , to arranger , to engineer in both live and studio environments, and now is a producer, sound designer , multi instrumentalist, and DJ. He has collaborated a lot during these two beautiful years despite the extreme conditions linked to the covid lockdowns. His collaborations include a long list of talented artists, with whom he has lot of fun and enjoyed all the work. Now, Stéphane invites you to discover his little world and wishes you a good time!

This INCREDIBLE journey is a perfect spiritual vision and masterful blend of all the ethnic music Stéphane embraces and plays, from various Middle Eastern/Oriental and African sounds to the fantasy sounds of modern electronica. Mawinguni is a confession of passion. It is an expression of the place that love takes us into. It is a plea for more of that feeling, the floating, the journey into the clouds when a moment of love is shared. He says, “Come take me into your arms, where it feels like floating on clouds. Let us fly into your love, where it feels like resting on clouds.” Here, clouds represent that dreamy state, that feeling of drifting into love’s embrace. 
This cross cultural production is a collaboration between Sidney Simila on vocals and synthesisers, Max Doblhoff on Drums and percussions, featuring the Giriama grooves of the Mijikenda Drums band, with a Dub element fused in. It takes you on a journey, into the very “clouds” that the song is talking about.
