In February of 2025, two individuals are alleged to have broken into Kanye West's Tokyo compound—escaping with a laptop containing unfinished recordings, beats, and sampled material.

The burglary was believed to be an inside job, perhaps motivated by Ye’s hateful rhetoric, ongoing nitrous abuse, and friendship with Dave Blunts.

In June of 2025, the missing laptop was recovered. 

Its hard drive had been wiped, except for the contents found here.
