RIP Aaron Bushnell, faithful soldier of the Palestinian people. Aaron was a 25-year-old active-duty Air Force servicemember who roared the words Free Palestine into the collective consciousness, not once but six times, on Sunday, February 25, 2024 @ 10:54am ET until he could not, collapsing and succumbing to the fumes of his own smoldering body, in uniform, in front of the Israeli embassy in Washington DC. 

I say we have not mourned nearly enough. And if you care to disagree, the guilt will start to eat away at us, one way or another. We say: mourn harder.

For those of us still in mourning, it doesn't end, much like the ocean. But it has been a "step one" for me in killing the imperialist ego. Mourning as ego death to see through that space is made for others, dead and alive, inside and among us. Mourning as a ritual of responsibility foremost to others. It is not easy. It can get fucking choppy. So we find our rocks, our collaborators. I am grateful to you beyond words. I guess this is what is meant by community building practices. Mourning as binding agent, the kind that dually ripens our spirits for a more fortified, more fruitful resistance.

Time and again, acid cuddles in its confirmatory power. Nothing more essential than community, nothing more political than music. So we action in both and leave all trace, on the radio, in a cassette tape, on the cornice of a building somewhere downtown. Radio as vessel for the spirits of the resistance. Radio as programming of necessary truths. Radio as it was, a medium.
