Heart Shaped Tambourines ( single version )

This is the title track of our July 2015 release 'Know the reason’ EP - available on 7 inch vinyl from Seattle based Jigsaw records. The song is a few years old and lay around for a while before it was recorded in the spring of 2013. The song is based on a chord progression and melody I had but Stephen and I wrote the lyrics together in a true duo kind of matter. I think endless listenings to Big stars first and The Feelies 'Good Earth’ inspired both feel and melody. I remember I came up with the chorus, Stephen added most words of the verses. Stephen came up with the trumpet hook riff and on record it was performed by my sister-in-law Mirjam Pettersson, who also played on our previous EP Technical Heights from 2013. We recorded the foundations of the song in our practice space in Albano and did some overdubs in my living room at Sodermalm Stockholm. I didn’t think so much of it after it was finished, but when I let Chris at Jigsaw hear some songs for a possible release he told me this was the one he liked the best and it was made the ’single’. Jordon Zadorozny (Blinker The Star) and producer/songwriter Filippo Gaetani formed the transatlantic pop duo SheLoom back in 2008, after a co-writing session in Los Angeles. The writing continued online and then the two met twice at Jordon's French Kiss Studio in 2009 for whirlwind 10-day sessions. The band released "Seat Of The Empire" with Minty Fresh in 2010. Gaetani lives in Vienna (Austria) and Tuscany (Italy), and Zadorozny lives in Canada. During the winter of 2013, their friend and indie chamber pop pioneer Eric Matthews (Cardinal / Sub Pop) joined the band. They proceeded to record the full-length The Baron Of The Fjord. The album’s lead-track is “America On Fire”.
In mid-2020 the band returned to its original duo status although Matthews will appear as a guest musician.
The new album "Listen To Thieves"was released on May 18th 2023.
SheLoom sound boasts a filmic, art-rock bedrock tempered with elements of new wave, 70’s progressive rock and orch-pop.
