A tape loop of Nightingale birdsong and accompanying ambient music was loaded into a compact cassette shell fitted with coarse sandpaper. The loop was played back, doing so very gradually damaged the loop thus degrading the sound quality a miniscule amount. Also, documented on this recording is the take-up reel rattling and grinding against the tape shell itself.
