Hailing from Perth the epicenter of the Australasian drum and bass scene, ShockOne aka Karl Thomas origins started in a band with Rob & Gareth from Pendulum, through to his recent assault on drum and bass dance floors worldwide, his musical energy and expression is powerful to say the least.

The beginning of the new year will see ShockOne drop his debut album ‘Universus’. With the first two smash singles from the album ‘Crucify Me’ and ‘Relapse’ released over the past year, ‘Chaos Theory’ presents the latest glimpse into what is undoubtedly one of bass culture’s most eagerly anticipated debut longplayers.

Already a huge star in Australia – where he is without doubt the biggest homegrown DnB star since Pendulum, enjoying headline billing at festivals such Big Day Out and guaranteed daytime playlisting on Triple J radio – ShockOne’s fame has spread worldwide as his long standing relationship with Viper, alongside remixes for artist such as Netsky, Brookes Brothers and Stanton Warriors have seen him grow into one of the most sought after DJ’s, remixers and producers in bass culture. ‘Chaos Theory’ is the latest in a long line of bass wielding super dubs which give a representation of ShockOne as an artist and as a DJ… huge bass, impeccable production with sonic subtlety and melodic nuance.

The very definition of a legend, Mampi Swift has been involved in the drum & bass scene since the early 90’s. It was in 1990 that Swift started DJing and found himself behind the counter of Lucky Spin records. With access to the studio next door and an in-house engineer, Swift jumped at the valuable opportunity to start learning how to produce. Releases soon started filtering out with labels like Suburban Base, True Playaz, Trouble On Vinyl & Frontline all taking tracks.
 
1997 saw the launch of Charge Recordings, and a slur of releases that saw him rise meteorically to the top of the DnB tree. With the release of ‘The One’, Swift became a household name and he showed no signs of slowing up, following that up with the likes of ‘Hi Tek’, ‘Touch Of J’, ‘Jaws’ and ‘Trippin’. The label went from strength to strength and has since seen releases from Fresh, Friction, Blame, Sigma, Gridlok and more.
 A pioneer of the double drop style of DJing alongside Andy C, his unmistakeable presence behind the decks has formed the back bone of many a line up from the UK to the States and everywhere in between. A true originator he has influenced and shaped the scene like few others.
 
After a couple of years out, Mampi Swift & Charge Recordings are back in the biggest way. With his latest releases gaining support from the likes of Andy C, MistaJam, Friction, Hype, Crissy Criss & Bailey. Tracks such as 'Gangster', 'Soldiers' & 'The Silence' have been destroying dance floors worldwide! Fast forward to Autumn 2013 and surely a career highlight for Swift as his monstrous remix of Dizzee Rascal's 'I Dont Need A Reason' took his profile to another level. The track was featured heavily on both mainstream & underground radio, and was critically acclaimed to be "The most most disgusting slice of D&B in the last 5 years!" - Zane Lowe.

With an international tour commencing in the first half of the year and a brand new studio to work in as well as exciting solo projects and inspiring collaborations lined up.  Expect big things in the future - There is so much more to come including a brand new roster of incredible Charge artists.

As the passionate owner of Disco Faith Recordings, this tastemaker has also been celebrated for her curation of one of the most enigmatic outfits - Sunshine and Disco Faith Choir, creating a community unlike any other and blessing people with the uplifting energy of her dancefloor ready music fused with the soul of her 12 piece choir. Joining the likes of Groove Armada and more, the collective has set in stone their impeccable verve from stage to stage, led by the OG herself, Sunshine.
