Our Christmas Eve podcast is made up of a variety of Christmas stories shared with us by listeners, a special update from the North Pole and also carols performed by the Sherkin Choir from the 2023 Carol service which took place on the 17th of December in Saint Mona's Church on Sherkin Island. We hear an interview that Julian Wyllie recorded in the early days of the radio project, Ber Burns calls in to tell us about the history and stories behind St. Brigid's crosses and Kevin McCormick has information about the work of the West Cork Islands Community Council. The March programme from Sherkin Sounds and Surrounds comes to you on Mother's Day, and is presented by Lizzie, Susan, Tina and Daniel Q, with Fiona  and Dee on the decks. As a special treat Aisling Brennan, a 2nd year BAVA student, will sing some Irish songs, and some of the island children will read their poems. As well as local news, Daniel will talk about his work with computers and AI, there is news about Sherkin Tidy Town efforts, and the music this month has been chosen by Dee with the help of AI.
