

WHO IS SQOOTIE JACKSON?

New Jersey native, Sqootie Jackson, has been making music for over 13 years. The artist began her career singing in church choirs, and as she progressed, she began performing in plays at her school which shaped her talent and prepared her for what was to come. Down the line, Sqootie linked up with popular local hip hop artist Tab, and eventually participated in two bands together called "Traveling in Stereo" and "Basement Skylights". This is where she took her career to the next level. She credits her musical upbringing to the band and used the knowledge she learned to  branch off into a solo career. Whilst chasing her dreams, Sqootie understood that education is power, and decided to go to Bloomfield College to obtain her Bachelors degree in Creative Arts Technology.
 
Unbeknownst to her, this is where her first ep, "Purple Luv" would be born. The project was inspired simply by the cycle of love. Purple Luv will be re-released on Valentine's Day, just in time for all the lovers and friends to experience love through the lens of Sqootie Jackson. The project comes complete with 9 songs and features artists such as Freakquencee, Euphony and more. Be sure to check out "Purple Luv" on all streaming services, February 14th.

Dejon Sykes aka "NuBarz" was born and raised in Flatbush, Brooklyn where music is the core, roots, and foundation in the music industry today.
His main inspiration is Songwriting which was a way to escape from any problems or complications he was going thru. Since NuBarz was young he always was into music. His main inspiration is Jay Z. " I feel like he took over the game when he was young and never looked back. He is a business man. That's what I am going to do ". In the year 2003, NuBarz started to take his music more seriously. He started writing more and more which led to him recording his debut song " Brooklyn Boyz " featuring his cousin Byrd. From there NuBarz wanted more. He loved the feeling of peoples reactions to his music so he took his talents from the studio to the stage. As soon as they announced his name you could tell he was a star by the way he had the crowd on their feet anticipating on every word he says and how electrifying his stage presence is. " I love performing, Its like when i step on the stage I snap. I get this feeling, the energy from those people in the crowd captivates me. As if we formed a bond." Those experiences led NuBarz to become his own independent solo artist and solidify his mark in the game.
