New EP from Ethyène showcasing a raising maturity in his discography. Drawing samples from library music, dub, soul and R&B, this record delivers everything House Music has to, deepness, groove, love and sincerity. No need to say that by launching a new imprint Ethyène decided to show a different side from his previous work. We can definitely feel it from the first second the record starts, with Static, mashing up samples from 80's dub music and west-coast funk to finally sound as a surprising modernized classic house anthem. The second track of the record 'Enove Lough' features a deconstructed and mysterious Rhodes loop delivering a smart groove until a delightful sexy vocal sample get in the mix to round off this deeper but easily danceable cut. The B-side of the record starts with 'Cape Town Mambo', a tune whose graceful horns loop keeps the listeners on an endless dreamy trip while its mid-tempo jazzy beat will have them hips sensually shaking without any doubt. The record has its consistency assured with ending on a 100 BPM powerful hip-hop beat with high-pitched and happy vocals as the Nirvana of this 4 tracks sensual and groovy journey.

‘Shine (This Is It)’ is the first single from Soul Clap’s self-titled second album that features legendary vocalist Nona Hendryx. After Ray met Charles and Eli when all played at LA party institution A Club Called Rhonda this happened..!

Nona Hendryx is an original member of the trio Labelle who’s smash single “Lady Marmalade” is a timeless classic. Her solo singles “Transformation” and “Do What You Wanna Do” from the 80’s are equally prolific to her work as a back-up vocalist for a laundry list of legendary acts including Parliament-Funkadelic, Talking Heads and Peter Gabriel. 

There is magic contained in ‘Shine (This Is It)’ and the strength in Hendryx's vocal empowers our sprits and moves us on the dancefloor. Midnight Magic’s Morgan Wiley delivers an outstanding keyboard solo and fellow bandmate Jason Disu teams up with Kalí Rodríguez and No Regular Play’s Greg Paulus to form the Soul Clap horn section.

Taking the magical vocals, horns and keyboard solo from the original, Ray Mang gives it a latin house twist adding an elevating Rhodes motif, bass and battery. Presented here in three versions on 180gram vinyl.

Brooklyn based, DJ Monchan aka @dailysession, steps up to perform some surgical edit wizardy on four mouth-watering tracks for the ever-dependable Razor-N-Tape.

'Reaction Control' kicks things off with a joyous disco gem extending and echoing those killer groovers to create a whirlwind of dancefloor delight. Next up, 'Dance It All Out' has a touch of the exotic highlife sound to it but reworked into a DJ friendly irresistibly bouncing jam.

Flip it and it's back to the late-night NYC soirees of the 70's with 'Can't Promise' channelling that pure unadulterated fun into an ethereal edit of magnetic proportions. Taking the final slot of RNT042 'Get Down With Your Love' closes out proceedings with a sliky smooth soulful heater.
