Our Distance

I wrote this song last November during a very challenging time in my life.  My wife of 27 years had just been diagnosed with a rare cancer.  We have a ranch in the Sierra Nevada foothills with two horses and I got up last year to feed them before dawn.  In the eastern sky was a quarter moon floating like a smile over the hills.  It brought a sense of calm and hope to me that chilly morning.  I was inspired to write how that felt.  This composition is solo piano and depicts a simple and pensive vibe.  I believe it will go very well with New Age or Classical Crossover playlists.
