love this track...and I need to remix my two early Breaks volumes....

UK based DJ/production duo Soul of Man were at the forefront of the late 90's breakbeat uprising, founding the seminal label Finger Lickin' Records, which would release music by leading breakbeat acts such as Krafty Kuts, Lee Coombs and Plump DJs. Soul of Man are comprised of Jem Panufnik and Justin Rushmore, who founded Finger Lickin' Records in 1998. They were based in Camden, England, where the label's office also functioned as a record shop, café, and bar known as Vinyl Addiction/Bar Vinyl, where DJs would spin nightly. Panufnik and Rushmore inaugurated Finger Lickin' Records with the debut Soul of Man 12" EP release, Love & Hate, in 1998, followed later in the year by another Soul of Man EP, Between the Eyes. In 1999 they made their DJ mix album debut as Soul of Man with Breakthru, Vol. 1: Revelation on the short-lived label Sixty Degrees North Records, followed later in the year by another mix album, It's a Finger Lickin' Thang, this one on their own label.

Manchesters legendary two room clubnight Tangled returned once again bringing their much loved sounds back to the smiley, sweaty dancefloor. 

This event was also a very special Tangled Breaks 25th Anniversary. The DJ's on the night were resident Steve Thorpe alongside original Tangled Breaks resident Herbie Saccani and the mighty Evil Nine. The night was a huge success and every DJ played an absolute blinder. Steve started the night building from 110bpm mixing familiar cuts with some brand new breaks, then Herbie followed with chunky mix of electro tinged, bass heavy breaks. Tom from Evil Nine then played an awesome 2 hour peak-time set comprising a selection of fresh beats, uncovered gems and Evil Nine classics. Steve finished the night in true style with Tangled Breaks classics uplifting piano infused breaks to end on a high! Smiley faces everywhere!

On the night, my set was *badly* hampered by major monitoring issues in the booth, so I spent the following day re-creating the mix as I'd intended it to sound.

Our favourite festival in the world Shambhala in deepest British Columbia Canada was nearly closed down due to huge forest fires closing in on the vicinity. Rain was needed and it came during our set in the stunning Fractal Forest!
