This session was cathartic for me personally. Been working long days and have had less time to  keep up with new releases but I snagged some tunes on Saturday and had some cool different stuff to play. Started off lush, deep and running into some wobbly bassline rollers and  synth heavy type stuff that I don't usually play that much. Some techy stuff and some jungle in the second hour ending into some uplifting rollers. Awesome vibe in the chat again. Fun Saturday session.

It’s been three years since I last created an Elite Force DJ mix. While my focus has recently turned to my Simon Shackleton output, there’s been a nagging desire to create something a little tougher from some of the great breakbeat and techno that’s being made at the moment.

Got an invite from homie @KeithMacKenzie to play his 11/11 live stream event with him, so I shifted gears and laid down a breaks tempo set. Although I'm not as fervent a breakbeat track collector as I am drum & bass, there's definitely stuff out there that catches my ear, but I rarely get to play. I was glad to have the opportunity and amazed at how many LLL stream regulars showed up for this one — we were all straight vibin' too!

Considered one of the pioneers of the Nu Skool Breaks sound and an innovative person in trying out new sounds Adam Freeland had many a hit back in the day specially with on his own label Marine Parade with which he promoted other top Breaks acts in the early 2000's. This mix was recorded for Australia's Triple J Radio back in 2004.

Commonly known as “The Godfather of Breaks” Rennie Pilgrem’s contribution to the early Nuskool Breaks scene is legendary and given this title is often considered responsible for the creation of the Nuskool Breaks genre. Before moving into the genre  breaks Rennie produced techno and acid house and was part of the influential rave group Rhythm Section along with Ellis Dee. Rennie is also the boss of Thursday Club Recordings aka TCR a label which he founded in 1993 which was a major force in the Nuskool Breaks scene. Rennie now concentrates more on his talented art projects but recently released some new music created during the co-vid lockdown.
