After a significant time out for the Four To The Floor brand due to a lack of open dance floors, we have decided to resume the series as an emblem of hope.

Four tracks that carry the sense of longing for the dance floors and the weight of the desire for reunion that has been building up within so many of us.

FTTF18 opens up with Bionick Amisi & Bob The Groove and their „Was It“ - an emotional Melodic House track that has been present in Solomun’s sets before the start of the pandemic. Next is Simon Mós with „Say Something“, a melancholic Microhouse track that features the heartbreaking voice of Curtis James.

Track 3 is „Shadow Dance“ by Eynka wonderful breakbeat symphony laden with moving vocal samples. And closing off the FTTF18 is „Clubs No More“ by Middle Sky Boom, a hypnotic tune that circles your head like a thought you can’t let go - the perfect parable for a DJs mind in lockdown.

Shika Shika presents our new Botanas by MAUGLI, an artist we have had on our radars and playlists for a while due to his really unique production style and sound. Somewhere between hip-hop, very skilled cut and paste sampling and crisp production. With this Botanas he doesn't disappoint with two absolutely delicious cuts of his signature style.

Trouble Feat. Flolento
'First track 'Trouble' is a collaboration with Eigenklang member Flolento on the clarinet and was originally inspired by the notorious 'Six Boys in Trouble. In the early 1950s a group of kids from housing projects jammed on homemade percussion and sang along with it. With a ton of soul and the first signs of something resembling rap flows (in the 50s!!!) the recordings spark pure joy to me. At some point the sample flew out and ended up on another song and then I asked Flolento and his clarinet to jump in to contrast the pouring wet guitarlicks - chop choppidy, chop and the jam was ready to be served.

Kiliman
Kiliman was inspired by a PVC tube jam and sung poetry from Harak and various Brao groups of Southern Laos. What struck me first was the laid back vibe that came across the recordings. A perfect base to garn with raw drums and pure sine waves for some serious sweaty, booty shaking. There are super secret undercover hints to the original samples sprinkled in there as well to other quotes in this collaged piece of music.

Shika Shika is very happy and proud to share with you "QUERENCIA" our 2021 compilation introducing 14 tracks by artists from 14 different countries.

The theme of this compilation was migration in the broadest sense - how music, people and culture expands and goes beyond borders - and each artist approached that in their own way, in their own context. You can find out more about the inspiration on the individual tracks on Bandcamp.

Querencia: 'a place where you are your most authentic self; a place from which your strength of character is drawn, where you feel safe, where you feel at home'.

For the artwork, we invited Argentinean visual artist Gala Berger to collaborate with us with one of her pieces. She is co-founder of La Ene (New Energy Museum of Contemporary Art), an experimental museum based in Buenos Aires, and the Paraguay Printed Art Fair, a fair born with the aim of creating alternative platforms of exchange and circulation of independent publications without the traditional restrictions and regulations faced by the mainstream press.

A soft rhythm to move organically to and a deep bass line to feel from the womb. Ethereal possibilities for the voice of the cello - voice of desire and devotion.
Deep and subtle. The Cosmic poetry of love making.
Music starts where words end. These harmonies speak from that place of surrender. Work in progress.

Meaning: The sacredness of experiencing love as a journey of remembrance of oneness.

Purpose: to express depth, sacredness, transcendance

This is an instrumental track that I composed and created using some LABS virtual instruments like drums, piano, cello, violin and some synths.

After his deep nature, consciously inspired contribution to our first release on Earthly Tapes 01, Janax Pacha returns with that jungly vibe again bringing you ‘El Caracol’. Translating to ‘The Snail’, the 4-track EP comprises two tempo shifting interpretations of a journey through vibrating mystical woodlands plus two re-works by Andi Otto and Carrot Green.

Slowly pulsating through a surreal and tripped out space, on the title track and EP opener ‘Caracol’, Janax Pacha effortlessly infuses South American indigenous wind instruments and distorted chimes with a deep chugging bassline to create a deep and introspective piece.
