This summer, I was honored to perform at the beautiful Before Sunset Beach club in Çeşme, Turkey in front of the Aegean sea.  I received such a warm welcome there and can't wait to return.  Please enjoy this set featuring live trumpet, percussion, and plenty of new and unreleased Yemanjo tracks...

Javid - whose name means “eternal” in Farsi, has indeed created a timeless piece of music for the next episode in our Urban Cosmonaut Radio series. Featuring a range of his own productions, live improvisations and organic samples, this mixtape tells a story that takes us to a world without borders or geographical boundaries.
Born and raised in Berlin, Javid’s music takes us on a journey through everlasting traditions and rituals of the Middle East, tribal vocals from Africa and organic sounds he’s collected from around the world. His Persian heritage and unique cultural influences fuse together to create a soundscape he describes as “ethno techno” - with basslines full of tangible tension and melodies tainted with melancholia.

Rumours have it that he escaped from a confetti factory in some faraway place, and that he was on the road with a flea circus afterwards. That would explain why all those sepia-coloured scenes from exotic places appear before the inner eye of his listeners: With the steady, hypnotic rattle of a steam train in the background, they show sequences from Middle East, South America, India, and from the infinite realms of Inner Space. It's this organic amalgamation of traditional, hand-played music and the digital functionality of House beats that makes Timboletti a very special DJ and producer.

Große Kälte und weiße Wüste. Ab und zu mal ein Pinguin und dann wieder stürmische Weiten. Eine sterile Umgebung voller nachdenklicher Leere. Ein erbarmungsloser Ort ohne Herz und Gefühl. Der siebte Kontinent hat nicht gerade ein gutes Image und seine Beliebtheitswerte sind wohl genauso niedrig wie seine Temperaturen.
Dabei hat sich der Charme dieses Ortes lediglich gut getarnt im ewig gleichen Hintergrund und wird, wie ein Schatz, gehütet. Laut Antarktisvertrag ist es nur Forschern gestattet längere Zeit im größten Gefrierschrank der Welt zu verbringen. Normalsterbliche dürfen nur mal vorbei schneien und sich kalte Füße holen. Aber diese kurze Begegnung mit dem gefährlichen weißen Unbekannten kann schon ausreichen, um hinter die Fassade aus Eis zu schauen. Dort verbergen sich einige der faszinierendsten Begebenheiten unseres Planeten. So hat die Eiswüste, wie sein warmer Verwandter, auch Oasen. Sogar ein Musikfestival findet in dieser unwirklichen Umgebung statt. Da heißt es Vorsicht, dass man im Suff nicht aus Versehen mit dem nächsten Laternenpfeiler züngelt anstatt mit seiner neuen Bekanntschaft. Ansonsten hinterlässt man bleibenden Eindruck á la „Dumm und dümmer“. Wer das „Ice Stock“ Festival mal besuchen möchte sollte sich jedoch an Silvester nichts vornehmen, da immer zur Jahreswende zu Folk und Country gerockt wird. Wer dann noch Zeit hat und voller Tatendrang steckt, kann noch am jährlichen Marathon in der Nähe des Ellsworthgebirges teilnehmen. Mit ein wenig Glück wird man sogar von Pinguinen angefeuert. Spätestens beim Anblick der klatschenden Butler wird einem warm ums Herz und man kann sich der überwältigenden Gefühle nicht mehr erwehren. Dieser Ort verzaubert auf seine ganz eigene skurrile Art.

Um sich selbst von der Magie zu überzeugen, hat sich Woodstock dick eingehüllt und ist durch den Schnee gestapft. Selbst der größte Sturm konnte ihn nicht aufhalten, für uns eine deep story in der Winterwunderlandschaft zu erstellen. Was er dort aufs Tonband gebracht hat, solltet ihr am Besten bei einem Eis genießen, um euch besser in diese Welt hineinversetzen zu können.

deep story nr.32 | weiße Wüste | by Woodstock

Huge thanks to White Ocean for making one of my dreams a reality. This year was my very first Burn… And if you met me on the playa, you know how much fun I had! For those who know me well, this experience was really powerful. I discovered a new part of myself, artistically and socially. And this set at White Ocean was very special. I was supposed to play a 3 hours live set but for many reasons I wasn’t able to do so…  So I improvised a kind of hybrid set remixing and editing some tracks in live. I had never done such a thing before and it was totally insane! Right after I started a big dust storm hit the playa and we couldn't see a thing but it was unbelievable! So epic! The crowd was insane! It probably was the craziest set in my entire life! I will never forget this one. There is so much to say… Just be there.
