"Aurora" is my first track of 2022. The project was started on December 15th of 2021, and production took just under 13 hours. All production, mixing, and mastering was done by me.
This track has a lot of varying melodies that dance between one another, much like the aurora borealis lights in the north. I went with more "wave"-esque percussion patterns, while incorporating some of my favorite synths to use lately (you may recognize some from my track "Light Wave").

New single from my upcoming Void EP. This track resulted from a personal challenge - to create a track using only one synth I hadn't used much before - in this case, FL Studio's native FLEX plugin. Can't overstate how much fun it was to take it to the edges of its capabilities and coax out the sounds I wanted - everyone who owns FL Studio should give it a try ASAP! Huge shoutout to @saif_sameer - his FLEX preset pack was a huge part of this track. Iowa native Ryan Unash, aka SHIKIMO, first found a passion for electronic music in 2010, when he was introduced to the music of Basshunter. In 2011, with the aid of his musical background – including double bass and piano – he began producing his own music using FL Studio, starting with trance, and expanding over the years into a wide variety of genres before developing his own unique blend of chill synthwave.

Space, weather, and beautiful landscapes shape the mood of SHIKIMO’s tracks, and he finds himself focusing on a particular setting when creating his sounds. His music has amassed millions of plays across all platforms, and his 2018 EP, "Off-World" was named "the best synth-ambient project of the decade" by Synthwave Radio.

SHIKIMO's 3rd full-length album, "Forerunners," released on June 25th, 2021, and he looks forward to releasing much more great music in the future.
