I was playing with a band that wanted to do some old funk tunes but I wasn't in love with the songs they chose so I wrote a funk song myself. 

It wasn't a genre that I was familiar with but I had a lot of fun with it. 

The basic structure is pretty simple but getting on the beat has taken a whole year of practice. You don't think about funk - you feel it. It's a gas when you get into it.

Wildflower

Inspired by The Odyssey, Of Grace & Graves is an exploration of temptation, calling, and pilgrimage.  As the month went on, the song moved from concept, to riffs and melodies, to an epic in its own right.  It took me on its voyage and I am pleased with where I've landed.
