Prolific DJ and producer Sébastien Michel, aka @UVB, first became known within the techno scene for his outstanding debut release on MORD Records. Boldly mixing influences rooted in EBM and New Wave with industrial, he has carved his reputation by harnessing his surgeon-like production skills to create hypnotic rivers of percussion and barbaric dancefloor rhythms.

The Marseille-Berlin based artist has been invited to the world’s most illustrious techno clubs, where he delivers raw, relentless DJ sets backed by his productions. Further releases on MORD, @STOOR, @Monnom-Black and on his own label, @BodyTheory, have kept UVB on the cutting edge.

For his third appearance at FOLD, UVB joined our Mord Records takeover, and for this episode of DETECT, we present that recording.

His first records under the names Furesshu and Esoteric experimented with swung and atmospheric techno, before he resettled in Germany and launched his resolutely independent project Blue Hour in late 2013. Since then, Standing has released pivotal records with a distinctive sound driven by the spirit and energy of the '90s, and in turn been welcomed into some of the most respected venues across the globe. Fuelled by his obsession with the early days of dance music, when genres like trance, jungle and IDM overlapped, his DJ sets explore a narrative of timeless music, blurring the lines between geography and scene, space and time. Beyond the platform originally started for his own productions, Blue Hour has since begun extending his reach towards other artists and releasing music from Dold and Alpha Tracks as well as his collaborative project as Tracing Xircles. An acclaimed Remixed series has also seen artists like Steffi, Pangaea and Answer Code Request re-working his music. There is no doubt that Blue Hour has become part of the techno world, but Standing stands clearly apart within it.

UVB is the pseudonym of the French DJ and producer Sébastien Michel. He grew up with the passion for music and focused his attention on electronic music from 2009 when he first decided to start producing .
In the meantime, he started experimenting on different musical styles with his studio partner Jean Redondo under the « Daxyl » alias where he shaped his taste for raw and hard tones.
UVB concentrated on his techno project from 2013 when he started developing his own version of a live which was a set only composed of his own productions, and played it at clubs in Berlin (Urban Spree, Tresor).
In 2014, he released is first EP on the Rotterdam based label MORD, followed by the double pack « Second Life » that have both been supported by some of the biggest names of the Techno scene such as Surgeon, Marcel Dettmann, Tommy Four Seven..
The year 2015 marked an important progress on both DJ and production sides. He decided to be dedicated full-time on producing music and performing as a DJ and started touring Europe; Asia and South America, playing in the finest techno institutions. ( Berghain, Factory 010, Concrete..) He kept on producing and released one more EP on Fracture soon to be followed by his first LP « Life » on MORD records at the end of the year.
As for now, UVB is working on new music in preparation for the launch of his own label « Body Theory » and delivers his own vision of Techno through the numerous dj gigs he is playing around the world.

The Dj, Producer and co-owner of the label Counterweight Gonzo MDF was born in the 80s in a small town of Andalucia and is currently based in Munich. Gonzo was already a techno addict for years when he moved to Munich in 2010, but after he arrived in the Bavarian city he immediately felt the need of a stronger & harder Techno presence in the city. Hit by this scenario and his passion for playing vinyl, in 2014 Gonzalo and some friends finally decided to set up their own music project under the acronym SPVBT and started placing some parties in small venues and off locations. In 2016 he started alongside with Marco H a new event series called Counterweight, which takes place once in a month in the stunning Rote Sonne. Since the beginning,

Counterweight was characterized for their rough sound and focused their bookings on acts that didn’t play in the city before such as Dax J, Stranger, I Hate Models, Sunil Sharpe, Freddy K or Ansome, just toname a few. In 2017 Gonzalo and Marco decided to move one step further and their platform Counterweight became also a record label. The first two references of the label were delivered by Gonzo MDF including a collaboration of the great Endlec. The releases quickly got attention of some of the heavyweight artists of the scene and got played in some of the most important venues in Europe. Gonzo’s sets could be defined by only one word: action. Expect the perfect mixture of early 90’s Techno with the present, lots of tracks you’ve never heard before and for sure, most of it on Vinyl.

His releases earned great feedback and have been picked up by Techno veterans such as Marcel Dettmann, Slam, Dax J, Laurent Garnier, DVS 1, Ben Sims, Len Faki, Cleric, Remco Beekwilder and many more... As Non Reversible continues to spread his creative wings, expect nothing less than powerful unapologetic Techno.
