Calligraphic artist: Nonin Chowaney (passed away July 29, 2022). Soto Zen priest and brush calligrapher. Permission was granted for me to use the symbol Dec. 11, 2012. At that time I believe he was abbot of the Nebraska Zen Center in Omaha.

As I sit, oblivious to the passing of time, my hands tap out the rhythms of my heart. The melodies overlap precisely, interweaving in vibrant symbiosis, and together form a unique canvas. It envelops me completely, giving me warmth, strength, and the energy to grow, develop, and move forward on my own path.
