The sound originally started in a small way but as taken on a full time roll for the past 8 years and we have never looked back as we are rapidly rising from strength to strength and gaining a massive following. Emperorfari Sound System was created by Scee Naphtali in 2006, after finishing from 22years in a family owned business, he had time on to finally take up his passion and build a Roots Sound System with the added bonus of Scee’s late father being a Sound Engineer for Voice of Kenya & BBC, the pure sound knowledge was handed onto Scee first hand and he had been going to sound system gatherings since a very young age with his elder brothers.

We play roots & dub music derived from reggae from back in the early days on our unique sound system including many specials commonly know as “Dubplates” but we also play many pre releases and releases so people can actually go out and buy some of the tracks we play. We do not have our own studio and this is a conscious decision as we pride ourselves in mastering the art of playing a sound system and not producing the music.

This also assists in others having a roll to play in sound system culture. A collective effort from everyone is the under pinning strength of Emperorfari Sound System together with all the people who attend and support the events.

We also work with many roots singers and players of instruments who regularly play and sing live when Emperorfari is in session and also work very closely with “Roots Conference” and many other promotors.
