London artist, producer, DJ, label head and leader of a new generation of high-speed ravers, SHERELLE announces her eagerly-awaited debut EP, 160 Down The A406. Known for her work as a pioneering, high-octane DJ, the EP is the first time SHERELLE has officially released her own productions. 

The EP title track “160 Down The A406" is today available to stream and download. Fusing Sherelle’s love of high speed sounds with a weaving melody,  the song is a left turn from an artist known for high intensity sets, finding subtlety within speed, and the sound of one of modern dance music’s brightest mind’s subverting expectations.

SHERELLE kicked off 2021 with a New Balance campaign and a hotly anticipated set for Fabric with Hooversound artist Tim Reaper. Her residency on BBC Radio 1 has seen her champion cutting-edge dance music to a mainstream audience, whilst her Essential Mix was named the station’s best of the year in 2020; whilst Hooversound - the label she runs with longtime friend Apple Music Presenter Naina - has carved out a reputation for the freshest outputs of UK club culture through releases featuring Special Request, Tim Reaper, Hyroglifics, Sinistarr and Deft. 

The 160 Down The A406 announcement follows Sherelle’s news of the creation of BEAUTIFUL, a space for black and LGBTQI+ artists to give their music a home.

If 2020 was a break-out year for Sherelle, seeing her win countless awards and grow respect amongst her peers, 2021 is the year of her truly establishing herself as a new age icon in UK dance music and beyond.

Miss Camaraderie Dub

Ahead of the first night of her SHERELLELAND UK and EU tour, electronic producer and DJ SHERELLE drops her new single, ‘HENRY’S REVENGE’, out now via Hooversound Recordings.

Launched in March 2020, SHERELLE and NAINA’s Hooversound imprint has become one of the most important platforms within the global dance music community. They have released stand-out records from Special Request & Tim Reaper as well as working with artists such as Denham Audio, Lone and Om unit. 

Her first release in nearly two years, ‘HENRY’S REVENGE’ sees SHERELLE return with a refreshed and revived energy after a challenging 2023. In August last year, only a day ahead of her debut sets at Lowlands & Pukkelpop the following day, she was a victim of theft on a train from Brussels to Amsterdam - not only losing her entire music collection of many years, but also her debut album-in-progress.

SHERELLE explains: “Last year I was working on an album and essentially lost all my music through being mugged on a train. I didn’t pick up my laptop or go anywhere near my computer to make music for a long time because I wasn't in the headspace to do so. By the time I was able to this year, I felt so relieved making it. It felt like a fresh start.”

Despite the hardships of last year, SHERELLE was set on making the best out of the setbacks.  She expands, “‘HENRY’S REVENGE’ feels like how I felt in August and September, there’s a lot of frustration and a lot of anger. Being able to channel that energy into songwriting and making it as explosive as this tune is, has been a really beautiful thing. I’m so happy and proud of myself to be able to get to a point where we are making music again, especially music I really enjoy, that reflects me and my sound.”

For the 18th release in the Phase Records DNB catalogue, the Head Honcho herself, Gifta, drops her debut EP. Over the past three years, she's been working tirelessly to develop her unique sound as a producer while pushing the label to be a platform for fresh talent and innovative music. Her 'Keep It Tuned' EP reflects the growth she's been striving for, showcasing the dark, aggressive, and dynamic style she wants to be known for. This release clearly demonstrates why her music deserves attention.

The three-track EP is marked by its hard-hitting drums that drive the tunes with a powerful yet smooth rhythm – a hallmark of her production. Gifta blends these with bold sound design, deep subs, and clever variations to create a trio of impactful underground tracks. Designed with ravers in mind, the EP stays true to her roots as a lover of the Drum and Bass live scene.
